Tonnes of lap records have been set in the wet. I've even set qualifying records in the wet before.

Wet races are often 30-45 seconds faster (for 100% races I mean) then full dry races in iGP. It's always been like that though.

Basic way to explain this...

Wet weather = less surface tension / friction = Faster car.

I personally think that the tyres need a whole new overhall.

Probably right Rob, but if the wets become more realistic (times wise) I think people will show up less for wet races haha.

Full wet 100% length Monaco GP, no thanks xD!

I would love to see a medium compound though haha. The whole soft vs hard strat thing is becoming so predictable.

The problem is, is that it's all circumstantial.. as we have no idea what is relevant and what isn't to this system v the new system..

All of the idea posts to fix this and that.. well, they are pointless if the new system is different to the one now..

Full wet weather with the new system could be superb or the same as it is now... We have no idea.

As for getting records. I think a high level team & driver with a lot of luck is the key.. You need to catch DRS both at the begining and the end of the lap.. Hit zero traffic and it chucking buckets of water down.. other than that. I don't see many people able to beat some of the times set... I've had full KERS and I hit the 1st part of the DRS.. and I have still been off by over a second.. I don't have slow drivers either.

I do wish you luck of your efforts Josh. It would be good to have a driver and log each track to see how close you are...

Going for lap records is pretty easy if you pit for new softs and have a 95%+ car. That's how almost all of them are set (exceptions being in the rain where you really don't need to pit for new ones)

Except to get DRS, you need to be behind another car. :P
