It would be interesting to implement a system whereby the league manager can initiate an awards ceremony at the end of the season. Things like:

- Best Newcomer
- Driver of the Year
- Manager of the Year

This would start after the last race in a season and would be voted for by all members of the league (through the polling system). Winners would win RP, not a huge amount, and perhaps some form of accolade on their profile.

It's something to do post-season whilst waiting for the new season, it will encourage the development of relationships within leagues (you're not gonna win unless you've got allies!) and it's another way of injecting some fun/reward into the game. Because it's voted for by all the drivers in the league, it won't be easy to corrupt.

What do you think!?

You're certainly threader of the year, Michael.

Sounds an interesting idea - or some variation - might keep people interested if they are not in the top players or winners.
What do others think

I think it's a good idea, sometimes people don't get recognition in leagues if there not winning so this would be a nice way of noticing them.

I like it, but I doubt the prices will go to the right people

"Michael
you're not gonna win unless you've got allies!

I get along well with the guys in the league where my team is and I don't win anything.

My old league, I got along well with the managers there, and I won everything (three consecutive titles).

I don't think your statement is accurate.

James - so what you're saying is;

I have allies - I don't win anything

I had allies - I won everything

I'm not sure either of those statements prove Michael's statement wrong, perhaps if you'd won everything without having any friends?

Either way, I think it was in reference to the Post-Season Prizes rather than the DC or TC...

Yuri - Care to back that up with reasoning? They would be voted for by the league members so not sure why you doubt they'd go to the right people...

I think it's a good idea, A league owner could possible do this without any changes from the devs but it would be nice to have something officially sanctioned.

If you race somebody and he/she doesn't always do the moves you like like block you, you're not voting for this person. I don't say all people would do that but I know a lot would.
Also I've raced in league were somebody was just not liked as much as others, because it was a group of friends. Friends will always vote for somebody in their friend group to get a reward. Again not accusing anybody but that's how it normally goes.

it's a good idea on paper, but if used in the game it would be abused.

This can incentivate to have multiple teams to vote the main team, is a good idea, but like Yuri said, this can be abused easily.

You are both right, and the multiple team issue is something which I had not actually considered as being a risk.

I think we all agree that implementing a reward system of sorts (official/unofficial) could be a good idea.

I guess my question back to everyone is (realistic or not) what would need to change/be implemented in order for this to work, and do we think these are worthwhile trade offs?

I don't know what it takes to work in all leagues, but I'm thinking about implementing it into my own league and supplying the rewards myself and maybe some others who want to chip in. I like the idea but I don't think it can be implemented to all leagues.

I understand the suggestion here. I wonder though whether giving 'financial' incentives such as reward points is a good idea.

Some leagues are fiercely competitive already & there will be a quantity of unhappiness after the interruption to the service yesterday & today.

I was leading our race & that doesn't happen very often anymore. I admit to 10 seconds of 'toys out of pram'.

The giving of prizes may also see those affected looking for compensation.

Well, I think some prizes have merit, and could be easily judged by a script.

Best new manager
Was the manager in the same league/tier the previous season? If no, the best performing manager in the standing gets this award.

Best new driver
Same as manager.

Most improved manager
Award for managers that where in the league/tier the previous season. Simply calculate the difference between previous and current season, the one with the biggest positive difference wins.

Most improved driver
Same.

You're right there, Kieron. I misinterpreted Michael's statement.

Could just be that the previous season manager had 100% then went to 1 or 0% and became the worst manager then went back to 100% or there abouts and does really well, they automatically get the award for most improved

well it is ok, he decided to do that strategy instead to do a balanced design, I dont see a problem with it.
