Hi guys, what do you think of the new car development system?

Initially I was curious and interested, I believed and hoped that with 200 points there would be a greater difference between the cars and their development, but instead it seems that this difference has diminished.
My impression is that the development does not seem to matter much and the cars all look the same on the track, including those not particularly developed, making the races very monotonous.
I often don't put points and still have a competitive car.
Opinions?

Trying (?) to get the development system better they ruined it. I don't understand the sense of just double up the development points, keeping the value of the single points unchanged. It would have been nice to set the old 1-100 as the current 101-200 and the new 1-100 just weaker and reworking tyres and fuel, because they last too little now. Strategies have too many pit stops, in my opinion.

The new system has increased the massive problem of the qualifications, instead of improving it.

The new development system is ridiculous and it sucks. There are no other words to describe it.

I agree.

That's the problem. It's ridiculous and now short championships are the most random ones. Does this make sense?

I agree here. The new system is a good step to allow longer seasons, or short ones without league rules limiting the CD, without running into the design cap, but the design points really shouldn't stay at half their worth.

In fact, I think in the middle range, about from 40-150, they should get more influence per point than they had in the old range (20-75). In order to do that the performance range could both start somewhat lower and max out higher, but also the effect of the first few points could easily be reduced a lot as it's massive. For example in Fuel Efficiency the first 6 points result in roughly the same reduction in fuel consumption as all 185 points from 15-200 together. Above 150 points the effect per point could be on average similar to the old 50-100 range, but perhaps still a bit more effect entering that range and fading out almost into a soft cap by doing very little for the last 25 points towards the cap at 200.

I would imagine that's one side of the coin.

However, leagues now have the option  of adjusting their seasons schedule thus making DP management proportionally more difficult to max out by the end of the season. This allows for a variety of performance results.  And at the end, that's what most of us were asking for.

Correct me if I'm wrong here, with the new 200 DP system the longer the season schedule, the longer it takes for managers to max out.

I don't think it matters the length of the championship and not even reaching 200 points, the important point is that the development has lost utility, the differences between the cars have significantly decreased.

Jack, in the official thread here said:

"To counter the halving of the performance gap, we may make several modifications to the scaling of the impacts before the release. We are able to adjust these impacts quickly if necessary, and will be monitoring feedback closely after release as well."

We can hope he is reading the forum in this period..
