Points for fastest lap

Mirroring F1, I feel like they should be a feature for the player with the fastest lap each race being given a point. It would give lower teams something to aim for if they aren't competing for top 10's and trying to avoid relegation.
However, I feel like the league hosts should be able to turn this off or on as it probably isn't for everyone.

If you want to give the point to whoever sets the FL no matter where they are then everyone from 12th downwards would pit on the penultimate lap and fit supers. It would be chaos

In all honesty, I can't think of anything worse. It would make mockery of the race, you'd have 20 cars tootling round for 90% of the race, not boosting at all, in fact, it would be pointless even watching the race. Log on for the start to make sure AI doesn't take control, then go and have a nap for 30 minutes before coming back for the final 5 laps. Yeah, great.

Did you miss the part where I said 20 cars? In a full division there are 32, I was assuming that the leading 12 would race properly, it's the rest who'll save their boost. Who is going to be in 20th place and think, I know, I'll use my boos to raise myself up to 15th, instead of waiting til the end and go for that FL point? 

I repeat again. I do not mind if I will give 1 point for a fast lap.This will be an additional motivation for those who cannot get into the points zone.
