Since i recently got kers im very suprised at how you have to make the kers bar last a whole race, would it not be better if the kers worked in the same way it does in real f1?

There was a dev post ages ago about this. Can't remember where, but it basically said that in the early days of the game KERS worked as it does in real life, but that everyone would use it in the same places on the track and so it wasn't an advantage and there wasn't really any strategy to it. That led to the system we have now.

Is much easier to program a kers with only 1 use than not a true kers.
And they cannot put so many seconds to compensate because the people can explote it to do a full-kers lap, the people already do it so imagine with bigger kers.
Having a true kers is a all known nice feature, bit they have to work in the code, and as far I know, the are not working so much, same bugs during years, and same game during years, with a promising big update during months if not years too, so, yes, you are right.
EDIT: James can you link that post, is the first time I read there was a true kers already, and I think it is patetic if they removed it, thats a F1 manager simulator, so we have to manage true F1 cars.

iGP Manager is based on F1 - it does not simulate it.

I still wish iGP KERS worked more like IndyCar Push-to-Pass - i.e. you have X number of pushes that deliver X number of seconds of boost. The way it is now with guys leaning on KERS for nearly a full lap, it's too arcade-ish for me.

I have experimented with KERS and it does seem you can gain an advantage while using it around corners.... this is slightly unrealistic as if you were to do it in a real F1 car i thinkk you would at either spin or put it into a wall, especially on street circuits...
i woul dhave thought there would be a way to either 1. limit where KERS is used (i.e. on straights only) or 2. if you use the KERS with you car going round a corner have a probability for a spin, or crashing out...

This is all well and good, but - What does the fox say?

Kimi could probably use KERS to correct a power slide so let's not say what is an isn't realistic here peoples.. We have KERS - result. It's not perfect but it looks to be the best of the options. Yes some fools will have a full KERS lap but their tyres will suffer accordingly etc Frankly ask any actual F1 mannager and they will likely complain about the majority of the rules - it's a fluid game with fluid rules and mechanics (relatively). Hell I'd even like to see Research for tech outside the rules (GP Manager2?) or Designers/TDs wih, not "special abilities" but shall we say focus on particular areas or parts. Back to the point - the fact remains that we have what we have and can use it how we wish - or let the driver use it (lol bless), so get on with it and make it work for you. Limiting rules will only limit the gameplay if you ask me..

I t would be awesome if soemthing like igp manager would be added to f1 2014 would like the idea of this being a mode on f1 2014 because you could make your own team and see things through the eyes of the manager of the team rather than the driver but you would be there (vitually) rather than looking a screen of text and you could have lots of camera angles during the race. Basically take all the aspects of igp manager but make them even better.
I had this idea about 2 years ago but didn't know about igp manager at the time but this is what was in my head but obviously alot more of a feeling of being there (sitting between the pit road and the race track like the real manager does) having the ability to be present at practices and qualifying plus everything on igp such as improving the performance of the car throughout the year and so on.
Then kers would be used every lap but to be honest having kers to last the whole race suits igp better than every lap.
