Yesterday, I had a problem researching my car. I have selected only acceleration where the research should resulted in a gain of 18 points, but instead it resulted in a gain of only 4 points.
The best car was with 145 points and mine was with 108 points as you can see at the pictures below.

Really, it make no sense in this case. We were with almost the same points and my research worked properly.

Eduardo, you have expired the technical director's contract, which you later resumed, but he did not work for that race and for that research. In these cases, the game assigns you a one-star technical director by default.

but the technical director expired after the race, is the research still affected?
if a race is missing to expire the contract, shouldn't you earn the points?

Gian once that the contract was with 1 race remaining wasn't it expected to expire and change to 1 star DT only after the race? I would expect to have the correct research for that 1 race and then resign to the next race.

You are both correct, that is what should happen. But it doesn't, it's a known bug. What happens in reality is that the TD gets replaced and only then the research is calculated. Same happens when your CD expires after the race. The research will be calculated with the new CD and will thus potentially even affect strength/weakness of your research for that race.

Correct 

The game manages the calculations related to the staff contract before the generation of the search points and then calculates the search on the basis of the wrong CD/TD, if the contract of the active one is running out after the race.

Exactly Luis, currently it is better to renew the contract before the last race, otherwise the research is done with a very small percentage due to the DT liv. 1.
