Morning All, wasnt sure how to get this one out of my head and into a post LOL.. (to earlier in the morning but here it goes). Well im into my 3rd / 4th season now. and feel like with the assitance of ppl in our league and forum members im making some good advancements. and it dawned on me the other day how long should i or do i keep my drivers for ? and i thought crap ive never really thought about this as ive been very busy with my two current drivers and their training... (which is going great !!) and now im thinking crap i really dont want to lose these guys hehe. SO now im lvl 8 had these guys for a couple of seasons and i supose my questions out of all this is the following

1) would it be possible to find drivers at my current lvl that will have simialr stats to the drivers i currently have ? or do i need to go through the same process again from scatch with training  ? or do i have more unlocking to do in this game..
2) when should i be keeping a good eye on drivers performace dipping ? at a certain age perhaps ?

Once again appreciate the time taken to assist.

Regards

Brett Wilson

go to http://igpmanager.com/play/?url=team-driver/offer

f
or picking drivers with your level pt the option ''overral rating above'' to its maximum.

for drivers already trained, you can use the options ''has won races'' ''has won championship'' ''has scored points''

now clic on ''set filters'' and there will be the drivers that you are searching, hope this helps.

Usually it's best to hire new drivers when you just upped a level, so you can hire the top shots of your level. For instance, when you've just reached lvl 8, they might nearly be 9, so while you're level 8.0, they might be 8.9.

As for the title of this topic, I think it sounds so dramatic lol.

Not sure about that. My drivers are always ahead of my own level. For example, I am level 8, but my drivers are both at level 10.
At the beginning of my season I fired one (very hard decision!) to go for a 'better' one, but I rehired the guy after the other one (despite a talent of 20 and other good stats) wasn't up to the task.

Although it may seem like a good idea to hire a High Level driver, you need to make sure there basically willing to race for you. For example, Sabastian Vettel would not be as interested in a team like Virgin and may not work to his best abilities as for if he was at a team slightly under his level, like Williams, he would be happier. So Bart is right, try to hire drivers that are good, but not too good! And if you do want great drivers, try raising them with trainings as you say you are doing. Check first to see weather new drivers really are the best option, you must remember that the money you pay for them could maybe be better spent.

In the past I have hung on to my drivers for as long as possible usually until they are 4/5 levels above me.  But eventually the salary becomes a really silly number!  So you have to let them go.  If you are really lucky you might be able to let them go and then re-sign them on a lower salary after your next race but I have never managed that as they are usually snapped up as soon as they are on the market. But if money is the problem then the hiring fee will often put you into debt anyway, so there is no easy answer.

Some drivers can be 'over trained' with a perfect hexagon so even with a talent of 20 they are poor.  This seems to be a strange anomoly with the way the game works.

I find my drivers start to drop off significantly around age 28. Or, they keep pace often, but are incredibly inconsistent.

But this makes no sense, because I know of people who have had drivers well into their mid 30's and they are still fast.

So I really don't know.

I have two drivers-- one 25 and one 29 and both of them are getting to be very inconsistent. I have a sneaking suspicion that the higher the talent they have the faster they degrade, but that's just a theory. My 25 year old has 20 talent and he seems to be falling behind very quickly while my 29 year old with 16 talent has been a little more consistent. I'm in Elite now though and I can't afford to wipe the slate clean with drivers sadly as it'll probably result in me getting demoted to Pro. I've had a 100% car all season at level 12 with level 16 drivers and finished no higher than 6th. Granted I can't attend races at all anymore due to school but it might be time to search for the next Sebastian Vettel.
