Watching the racing, and looking at the league tables, it looks like IGP have got the simulation model from Noah and his Ark!

IGP races needs some form of random elements added to the racing like engine/KERS/DRS/tyre failures or even crashes. F1 races in real life seldom finish without incidents, minor and major, happening throughout the field.

There's already a heap of randomness in qualifying and racing performances.

What About Car Personality? You can have More speed down the straight, but less into corners or the other way around, or balanced

Good idea Ben and personality could also affect, that you could either build faster or more reliable car, but couldn't get both. or then it would be  like 50% realiable and 50% speed or just insanely 100% pure speed with zero reliability, which would give you pole positions and then in the middle of race your car parts are just starting to fall apart. :D ..which will break following car tires I think or then safety car is needed and nobody wants pace car I think! It is just where you draw the line, when it is too realistic. Now the randomness come when newbie managers are miscalculating their fuels. I guess it is realistic too :D

Btw. with Codemasters F1 games I hate it, when it is so realistic that you have to do Young driver test drive with every single new game and those totally suck. It is like if you have played F12012 100 hours and buy F12013 you have to start as a newbie and drive those silly boring newbie tests. Totally bad idea, which is boring and shouldn't be involved in gaming experience to my point of view, but kind of off-topic here too, kind of not in same time maybe. Maybe more wet races. They're rare, but give randomness to gaming experience too. More randomness, I'd like that. Good idea.

Covered in version 2, which I designed and built over a year ago. Sim development has been significantly slower however, and the bottleneck for progress. Only recently was support for the new design system added to the beta, and we're finally ready to start testing.

You can read more about it here.

This is good news Jack.
Can I ask if the suppliers will also be tied into this new system?  It is not clear on the update info.

The main goal of the version 2 update was to address fundamental gameplay design issues. For example: everyone choosing one supplier, people starting a season with 100% cars and dominating the entire season etc. None of that flies in the new system.

For example one engine supplier may add +1 adcceleration and another adds +1 reliability, but otherwise they are equal in every way. The choice of suppliers is based on what is best for you, not what is best overall, as no such thing exists anymore. The same is true with car design, the designers can bring bonuses through their own strong and weak areas. One designer might be good at developing reliability, but bad at developing braking ability in the car. And with the basic design each season, nobody can start with maxed out levels, it is again based on your designer and their ability, a car will be generated based on their skill level and balance of strength and weakness.

Thanks Jack.
Your reply exactly addresses the point I wanted clarified.  I thought people would be interested in that as well.

How do we see what our designers are good at?

Thanks! :D This is exactly, what I have waited! I think, when the new system will be published I finally start my winning! :D That's obvious cause other managers won't be equally sharp anymore, cause they have tasted their success already. Then my era of domination can finally begin :D Thank you guys! Good work, but hurry on publishing plz :)

It's written on their profiles and in the listing when they are being browsed. But yeah, these things are not coming right away, just to let you know we have addressed them or are working on them.
