How do you get the best from the push level?
I find that if I push for a couple of laps then my tyres get very hot very quickly, so then I have to drop the push level right down to cool them, so any benefit I had is lost. Would it work better if I pushed for a short amount of time, and then dropped the pl in corners to cool the tyres etc and repeat several times throughout the race?

My pace seems good enough to fight for pole and stay with the leading bunch...but they’ve just got that little edge on me that at the end of the race I can’t quite stay with them.

Hello.
There is many theories as to which use of Push Level is most effective, and it is part of the team strategy to find out which one is most beneficial for your team.
Recently, I have found that maintaining my tyre temperatures in the black area is best for my team. I do this by reducing push level when my temperatures are in the red and increasing push level when they are in the blue. However, at cold tracks, this can increases the amount of fuel I must carry.
I have seen people mentioning pushing high on the corners and low on the straights on the forum, and for some teams, this is the most effective use of Push Level but it is part of team strategy to find out which method may be most effective for your team.
