How on earth does the clean air actually work? For the past 2+ months having clean air has done nothing for me and cars behind me with dirty air keep up with me with no issues or even catch up on me and when they get clean air they just zoom away. Doesn't matter what push levels I am using. I would be racing for race wins a lot more if the clean air would actually do something for me but it almost seems to just slow me down.

I notice clean air regularly, the car in the lead always runs better laps and increases the gap drastically. Same goes for cars that doesn't have anyone in front of them close. Sometimes I also notice that some cars do extreme well to stay close behind you or even reduce the gap, but I can only think about them pushing more or having less fuel, but these rarely happen.

It works differently for each circuit. What is important to understand in general is if you are stuck behind a slower car than you, you may end up losing precious time that could cost you in the end. You also need to remember that at some tracks drs is very powerful so you may have to think twice about clean air.

Clean air is obvious on certain tracks, but there are some tracks where it does not affect you in any way. PL and fuel loads are also a contributing factor. Just need to find the balance for each track.

It’s probably a case that the difference isn’t big enough for them to full out of drs range, if you watch poll they’ll quite often break a couple of seconds the first 2 laps! Also very noticeable in wet races
