I think we should be able to change the fuel of the first stint in the time between qualifying and lights out. Some strategies only work well when you qualify in a specific part, and given how rng the qualifying is, it would be good imo to be able to cater a strategy to where you qualify.

so you want to put 1 laps fuel in for qually to get to pole then add more for the race, not going to work as everyone eill just run 1 laps fuel in qually.

Not exactly, what I meant was that you should be able to change the amount of fuel you use between quali and race, but the fuel doesnt affect qualifying anyway.

Dan, you always qualifying with same amount of fuel and push level. So the only difference is the tyre compound you set up for your first stint.

As for the idea of changing fuel amount when you see your qualifying position, I don't think it's going to be much effective, as your opponents will also be able to do that.

Yes, Gustavo, it might only help you occasionally. Like in Barcelona, where you plan to go 4-stop on S. After poor Quali you might switch to 3-stop on S.

Or if you are the first of the Softs in quali, make your car light, so u can tailgate the SS and do your first stop between the usual SS- and S-window.

Some stratgies work well only if you qualify in a specific area, for example, if you're way behind where you want to finish, doing a heavy first stint is never going to work because you'll lose the front running pack quickly. On the contrary, if you're on pole having a light first stint is almost never worth it because though you'll pull away, you won't have DRS so when it comes time to pit, the net result is slower.

It's the same for everyone though. If this was allowed, then everyone would just do that & I don't see that adding much value to the game. Just my 2 pence

Yes, everyone would be able to do it, but I don't see why that's a discouragement. Like I said, to do good from different positions, different strategies are needed, and in its current state you just have to guess where you'll be with your strategy.

By the way, yes.
we have a qualification with fuel for one lap. In the race, as much fuel is poured as was set before the quala. and here the closed park is not working properly.
Or we qualify with fuel for the race, and do not change before the start. Or qualification with fuel for one lap and the ability to change fuel before the start

it would be great if the qualification took place with the amount of fuel that you defined for the start, then the fuel attribute would become more important

It would be way better just to remove the current qualification as it is not workign quite well and replace it with lets say a sprint race. And then after the sprint is done you decide how much fuel you want in your cars. But that's just my ideal setup, not gonna happen anyway.

And how do you qualify for the Sprint race?

There may be several options I can come up with just now. So this can be a reverse starting grid based either on the last race like in F-2 or on the current pilot championsip - not the best one I agree but that could be a great fun. Also it can be a kind of live qualification where everyone just start from the pit lane and go for 1-2 fast laps. I mean the main idea is to actually take some sort of control over the qualification result.
