I just earned an ideal setup as part of the daily reward and when I went into race setup for a league race about to start at Mexico it said my ideal setup is

Suspension: Neutral
Ride Height: 18
Wing: 20

Which seemed very odd since in my track notes for Mexico that is nowhere near the ride height and wing I have.  I did a test run and sure enough it said:

“Ride height much to high” and “wing far too high”

I used my track notes to setup with, which are:

Suspension: Neutral
Ride Height: 6 and 7 (My #1 driver always likes his ride height -1 from the second driver at every track)
Wing: 8

And they were perfect.

So how does “ideal setup” give me something that is nowhere near ideal?  This isn’t that big of a deal right now since it was a free daily reward, and I Thankfully have track notes for Mexico saved, but sometimes I use tokens to purchase the ideal setups if I don’t have notes saved for a particular track, or I have a new driver who prefers something different, and this would be a problem if I spend tokens on a setup that isn’t even correct.  Should this be reported as a bug or could there be another possible explaination?

Was the track wet?

Hi Jason,
Was this ideal setup reward the 2nd "mystery" reward, and not the main reward?

No it was the standard reward, then I think $ was the mystery reward, I always pick the 3rd reward for some reason haha.

The track was also not wet, the weather forecast said rain, but when I went into the setup/practice it was partly sunny, cool, and 0mm of rain on track.

*EDIT* the 0mm of track wetness was what made me make this post.  I figured it’d be different than the standard setup if it was actually raining or the track was wet, but the fact that it wasn’t and it still gave me an “ideal setup” as if it WAS a wet track was odd to me.

Hm, interesting that it was the standard reward, the reason why I asked is because there's a long standing bug with the ideal setup as 2nd reward. It changes the setup of your car to what is the correct setup for the weather conditions at the moment you get the reward, but it doesn't really activate the "ideal setup" functionality to constantly adapt to the weather. In that case also the "ideal setup" button for your driver is not greyed out. So if the track is wet when you get the reward, but then by the time you start to do your race preparations, it is dry and the setup is wrong because it didn't adapt.

I have not seen this bug occur yet when you get it on day 7 as 1st reward, that one normally correctly applies as if it was a 3 token purchased ideal setup, with also the button being deactivated in that case.

Do you remember if the ideal setup button was greyed out?

I was actually mistaken, it must’ve been the bonus reward, because TODAY I got the setup reward, and saw that the setup was in the bonus reward slot for yesterday (cash was the main reward), so I switched the order in my post by accident (doesn’t help that we can’t go back in and view the daily rewards until the next one is available).  I also thought by “second” reward you meant the middle of the 3 mystery slots, which is why I made the comment about always choosing the 3rd mystery slot.

So yes, the ideal setup reward I was referring to in my post WAS the 2nd reward, and now it all makes sense since you said it is a long-known big.

Thanks for all your help!

*EDIT* I do not recall if the ideal setup was greyed out yesterday or not.
