When trying to access my race in Internet Explorer, the live timing viewer kept popping up with a message to update Java. I installed the update, which my pc already had, and it came up with the same message about updating Java Runtime Environment. I was able to view the same race in Firefox, and spectate others in Opera and Chrome. I believe that my pc has just updated to IE11 a few hours before I wrote this, so this could just be a browser issue. Is there any way to fix this?

This crops up from time to time.

This is usually fixed by deleting all versions of Java from your machine & then installing the lastest version.

This problem is occuring with IE11,  the people at igp don't seem to care as long as it works on another browser!

No Simon - they do care - they just haven't found an easy fix.

This thread discusses the same issues:-

And there are many others with various suggestions.

Jake is absolutely correct.

We want to make the game available to as many people as possible & therefore want it to work on as many platforms as possible.

If the issue you have is not covered in the forums or you have specific questions, you can contact the helpdesk where Aaron will be happy to assist you.

Thats my point, the issue does appear in the forums (IE11 doesn't work but chrome/firefox does)

Maybe a "We are looking into it" post would not go amiss.

I will confirm with my more technical colleagues where we are with that particular issue.

In the meantime, is anyone else experiencing this issue?

IE wasn't working for me, so I switched to Chrome. I also reinstalled the latest version numerous times but it still didn't work.

What we need to do with these issues is deal with each one separately.

It would seem that there are plenty of people with IE11 who can access the game very well.

Therefore, if you are still having this problem, please log a call with the helpdesk & we will look into your problem.

I can't run JAVA on my laptop. If I update it, it stil says that I need the newest JAVA.

Nelson, This can be caused ny having more than one version of Java on your machine. We would advise deleting them all & installing the latest version.

If this does not fix the issue, then as per the above, please log a call with the helpdesk & we will try to assist you.

Races had been running fine on my new laptop until I updated IE and it was then I was getting messages saying I needed to update Java. Tried removing all old Java versions and installing latest but still got the message.
I solved it by running a different browser - I am now using Firefox and have had no issues at all.

Andrew,
The right approach should be the other way around...
I believe that we can consider a fact that after the latest update of IE11, everybody has the problem.
I need to have two versions of java, the 32 and 64 versions, since I am using both browsers (32 and 64bits).I think this is the same for the majority of us.
It would be wiser to investigate the issue as a whole instead of case by case with the helpdesk, unless you want it flooded ;-)
Thx a lot

Understanding that it is Christmas / New Year, I'll be looking in to it when I get a chance this week.

The Java side of development has been a bit intermittent this year for several reasons, and steps are being taken to resolve this internally. That's the best explanation I can give for what has happened here. But I wanted to make it clear that it certainly was not a conscious choice to dismiss or ignore any portion of our audience. Sorry that it has taken so long for you to get a response.
