What did you try to do?
I have 20 points to use per race and I've used them exclusively on acceleration to ensure I'd always be leading or tied for 1st with anyone below 50% research.
What happened instead?
Someone who's level 18 with 46% research overtook me. (This is without suppliers). He hasn't even researched acceleration every race, and since he can use less points per race and research isn't over 50%, it should be impossible to gain while I still use max points. But he somehow passed me, and despite leading in accel gained 12 points in research last race.

Don't know if it can be reproduced, but the devs can probably look through some log to see what happened.
