I think that in IGPManager lap 1 is a very luck based element similar to that of qualifying. Some managers tend to lose 5 or even 10 positions in a league while others can gain 5 or 10 positions in a way that seems pretty random. I think that on lap 1 you should stay about where you qualified give or take 2 positions based on fuel, tyre selection, and push level.

Last season in my league I lost multiple races because of this.
