design improvements missing

Hi.
I did'nt recieve any design improvements after the race.
This is the message i got in my inbox from the TD - "Our design research uncovered no improvements at the last race."
Can anybody tell me why this happened?

All i recieved are the design points from my design HQ and nothing else.

Can you remember if you were the most developed in the area (s) that you researched?
If you have the most developed in an area, research will not give you any gains. 

yes, i have the most devolopment in that area...

You're welcome.  
A way to easily avoid getting 0 research points is to make sure you don't research an area that has a red tick when selected.
