Hi All,
First of all i doubt this is the right forum for this.
So sorry to the forum moderators.
I've been toying with the idea of creating an eBook guide to iGP and wondered if:
a) any new starter would actually read it
b) if any of the pros would be interested in contributing
I'd compile it all for free, make it look at least half decent (i work in publishing), and let people download it for free for offline.
If the guys at iGP deem it good enough they can make it the official guide used online.
So I guess this forum post has 3 questions:
If your a rookie would you read it
If your a pro would you help me out
And finally what would you guys wanna see in it!?

I may as well kick this thread off with what I'd want to see:
eCommerce guide; how to make money
Quick tips for noobs: don't switch drivers constantly etc
Facilities info: what building does what
Track guide: track bios with pit delta times and quotes from the fastest lap drivers (you've got to have some fun)
tips from the pros: what they do/did to get so good
add on anything you can think of useful, humorous... Just go wild!

im no where near being a pro but i dominate my league because i stuck with a driver who is now level 13 while all my friends have level 7/8 drivers because they change them so much!

Isn't this enough?

Although the beginner guide has useful information, it would be more helpful were it fleshed out. Information about what ibest to spend your money when new. More data on what the stats do, that the objectives pay more when the league has more drivers. I read an ebook for sure!

I would encourage any input that will help new managers. I am not keen on 'giving the answers to everything' though. I thought the whole point of a management game was to find things out for yourself. But I am aware that most people probably find that a chore. Not sure about it being the official guide as you would need to be on the staff to get all the 'inside' knowledge but I don't see any harm in starting with an ' unofficial' guide that is approved by iGP. If it advertises the game and gets people interested then - yes - It is worth pursuing. Hopefully it would inspire the present managers to feel more inclusive too and give all those Elites something to do while constantly winning pot of money :)

Well unofficial guide would be the aim.
The aim would be to provide as much help as possible but not spoon feed new managers.
I mean simple stuff like telling them that real pit strategies don't work.
I've seen a fair few people jump in and try a 2 stop strategy.... Didn't end well

My advice to new players & indeed to less new players, is to look at what the best players are doing & copy them.
There is plenty of information available there, with considerable detail. I am still copying Jason, who is probably the best player in the game at this time.

With an eBook, you mean a downloadable one for iPad, eReader and Kindle?
If anyone wants to do it, I'd prefer a short video tutorial.

Yes, it wouldn't give out the secrets we have to learn, but it would be nice to not make the stupid mistakes like hiring 6 drivers your first season. And also what purchases are not worth the money as they are not enabled. Things like that I believe would be helpful.

I'll start compiling a list of content and post it here.
If anyone wants to add anything feel free to drop me a mail.
Short video could work but I do think the beginners guide shows a lot of the stuff an intro video would cover.

Been very busy and barely been able to get to races.
Watch this space!

I would definitely be interested in reading it. 4 seasons in, and I think most of my success is down to dumb luck so far.
