I have reached the top of Level 8 now, expecting to pass on to Level 9 but as I have found, there is a limit on your highest level when your in the rookie tier.
This is especially annoying for me because I am in a private league with a few of my friends and there is only 1 tier. This means that if I am to ever level up again ,which I really want to do, I will have to leave all my friends behind and join a completely new league and then wait one whole season until I can level up, this just doesn't work for people like me in private leagues.
I also found my training is now limited which made me very angry! Also, my Youth Academy is now useless because my young drivers are already passed Level 8, as I was hoping to do, but can't.
I think the idea of making leagues fairer could work, but not in a League where you cannot progress onto another tier. All Leagues without a Rookie, Pro and Elite Tier shouldn't have this rule, its ruining the game for me.

Hello Charlie,
Our private league had a similar problem when we all started to reach level 8.
Luckily, we've had enough interest to start promotion and relegation between rookie and pro. Pro is just going to increase to a 6 team league and as we race twice a week the pain isn't as much.
However, I'm not sure what we'll do in a couple of seasons time when our pro league is big enough to have promotion to elite.
It's a shame that the game is setup in this way and when I've asked the admin team about this in the past. I understand the reason why the level cap in there - to stop higher level managers walking the leagues. They did suggest that they might look at a friendly league option where this level cap is removed but I doubt it's high enough on priorities at the minute.
It's as if leagues like yours and ours where we prefer racing people we know (in real life) might need to join together so that there's at least 24 of us to have a full set of interesting leagues from rookie to elite.

(Psst Charlie here, I'm on my Youth Academy Account)
I like that idea Clark, If Leagues did come together, it would mean more friendly people meet more friendly people. This however could cause arguments between the 2 owners and may also result in teams being seperated from there friends due to Promotian/ Relegation. But because it would be roughly 50/50(%), its unlikely you will end up in a tier where you know no one.
Btw, if you want to go through with that idea Chaz Bradely is the guy you need to speak to, I don't own the league.

As you say Clark, this has come up before.
The idea was to give the league host the option to turn the level cap on or off.
I don't know how difficult this feature would be to implement. I will discuss it with Jack when he is back next week.

Join my league. It's almost like auto promotion.
Carlito Waltino medal 5000 10 years 279 days ago
Thansk Andrew, much appreciated.
Thanks for the offer German but the idea is I want to stay with my friends.

Thanks Andrew, it would be great to hear Jack's views on if it's got a chance of being done.

I will move this to suggestions

I'm sure you will all be glad to hear that this entire discussion is operating on a misunderstanding. You are still gaining XP, Charlie (and others). The level cap is display-only. In the background you continue to gain XP and level up even while racing under the level cap.
You can reach level 9 and beyond, but you won't be able to utilise those levels while racing under the level cap. Those levels will only become available to you when moving up to the pro tier. The level cap is there for a good reason, as it keeps the tiers fairly even, and stops the best manager in the game from being in the Rookie tier, which would make no sense, and be infuriating for new players coming in to the game expecting a fair fight.

My league doesn't have have promotion from rookie to Pro and most of us in the league are ether level 9 or level 10. If the league owner could set the level cap for his/her league it would probably be better than it being pre-set

Our league has no cap, and tbh, as we've all started bumping up against it the competitive order has got closer.
That's all good and well, however, but motor racing isn't about a fair fight and our league mirrors real life in the sense that a newcomer has to fight their way up the levels as well as the order.
It would be nice to be able to change the level cap, I quite enjoy that it has evened things to an extent, I just find it sad that there is a facility that is only available at level 10 that none of us will ever get. Anyway, life goes on, and we will race on.

If the league host can make up level caps on a whim it defeats the entire purpose of the level cap - to keep the racing competitive. Placing insurmountable obstacles in front of new players is a recipe for disaster in user retention.
I appreciate the desire to lock in a group of friends in to one tier and race together. But leagues and tiers in particular are intended to be a competitive ranking system. It is not some arbitrary thing that hosts can change on a whim, promoting people for fun and so on. If we start doing that we might as well let people make up their own reputation level too, putting themselves wherever they want to be in the hall of fame. It undermines the entire concept of tiers being representative of skill level.

Well indeed. However, when a group are playing in an isolated league their interest in overall reputation and their relative position in the hall of fame is of absolutely no concern to them.
But yea, I'm not moaning, it is what it is.

Alternatively, you could make the Youth Academy a Level 8 facility and not put a cap on raising drivers from it, and that way, no one is really missing out on anything major by being capped at Level 8?
