I'm shopping around for a new league because half of the league I'm in is inactive. It's sad when only 7 of 22 racers make it to the Grid. I'd complain to the host, but they haven't been around for over a month. When I look through the tiers of many leagues I'd like to join, it's the same story.
Is there a way to cull leagues for inactives without contacting each individual host? Should IGP contact all players that are inactive after a certain period to verify if they're even interested in continuing to play? If they're not, removing their account will help clear leagues of people who joined iGPManager but never got into the game. If they are interested in keeping their account, it may rekindle their enjoyment of the game and make them active racers again.
I'm not saying that all players need to be actively racing. I understand some people take time off from playing for this reason or that, but being in a league and failing to make an entire season and taking up space in the league isn't the answer either.

We have left the issues of inactive people in leagues to the league host. It is up to them how they run their league.
If the leage host is inactive, a new host can be appointed. If the person who wants to be the new host logs a call with the helpdesk Aaron can assist with that.

How about this, Andrew?
In the team/manager profile create a option (unticked) that if selected by the manager (ticked) who wishes to temporarily leave the game (ticked meaning he has the intention of returning), that causing his account/team will never be reseted (instead that option can be included in the menu when we are to leave a league).
If upon leaving a league that option is unticked, the team/account will be reseted within... 1, 3 or 6 months, a year, whatever you (staff) decide to be the best option.
That way the inactive teams/accounts are removed automatically, and managers can better choose leagues to join.

Actually, if a league is literally full of inactive people it gets automatically closed down by our system. There are a few leagues where just a few people are active though and they stop the league from getting shut down.

An easy way to remove inactive players would require players to opt back in to their league at the end of each season. It's as simple as having them set up their car prior to the first race of the season. Truly inactive players will miss this deadline and will be removed from the league, allowing active players to take their place. That allows inactive players to keep their records and information even if not a part of a league. They can then re-join a league once they become active again.

Yes I like that idea - it would help clear out a lot of people who may be bloking the system. And as you say - they can rejoin later if they want to.

+1 on that idea, but I would add to that a condition that the user has not logged in for a month or 5 races or something like that. I'd hate to get booted out of a full league just because I was on holidays at end of season.

My other account is actually in an Elite tier where the Rookie and Pro tiers have zero active managers, but our league host leaves them there because anyone that joins and is active through the season gets promoted, which after a while boosts the Elite numbers. If you boot the inactives automatically we'd end up with a league with maybe 2 rookies, 2 pros, and 8 elites (active), and we'd be stuck there, when we could just have 12 elites.

+1 to Blundell's idea. There are too many leagues with over 50% inactive teams, it is hard to stay interested in only racing with 2 other teams for an entire season.

Same in the league I am in rookie and Pro tiers have 3 or 4 active managers and the rest are inactive yet the Elite tier is mostly active with 7 out of 9 managers actinve,

Personally I don't care for the idea having to re-join after each season because it causes problems with people leaving early to save better designed parts and manipulating it for their favor, but at the same time I'd personally love to see an auto-kick feature that comes only after a person has not set a strategy/replaced parts in a minimum of 3 races or has not entered the grid in 2 races. I think it'd be great for the game.
