hi! there's something i dont understand whit driver's skills:

I have 2 drivers:
Manule D Andrea: rating 19, age 23, height 172cm, weight 51kg, healt 100%
aggression 19
anticipation 19
bravery 19
charisma 19
composure 19
decision 19
feedback 19
focus 19
influence 19
morale 20
teamwork 19
work rate 19
reflex 18
stamina 18
experience 14
fast corner 19
overtacking 18
fast corner 19
talent 19
wet 19

Massimo Roccoli rating 17, age 21, height 169cm, weight 51kg, healt 100%
aggression 17
anticipation 17
bravery 17
charisma 17
composure 17
decision 17
feedback 17
focus 17
influence 17
morale 20
teamwork 17
work rate 17
reflex 18
stamina 18
experience 11
fast corner 19
overtacking 18
fast corner 19
talent 19
wet 19

as you can see they are both 100% stamina and 51kg weight.. but d'andrea have something more about skills.. so i think that d'andrea is faster than roccoli... but....
why roccoli is always faster than d'andrea????????
whit the same strategies, and same consition cars ROccoli are alwaqys faster.. in some situation he give 0.5sec at lap!!!!!
how does it possible??? there is some hidden skills?? or maybe some skill have a bad effect on drivers performance?? maybe height affect drivers performance??

thanks for help... :)

From my experience, there is a minor height discrenpency, but not by much. The thing that I think is proabably the factor is that you trained mental too high on Andrea, as after a certain point of mental training, the driver actually gets slower.

my tip: get rid of these drivers. Drivers get a lot, I mean A LOT slower after lvl 14 or so. They start making setups that don't make sense (you can't just load old setups, they won't like it and won't be fast with them) When you've got lvl 19 drivers, I can imagine those setups are waay off. The time it would take to get the drivers back to lvl 14 or so is way too long. I personally don't let my drivers go over lvl 14 max. I don't train their attack to the max untill they can have that while being lvl 12. Physical, speed, defence and attack are the attributed to train in this game, although some other stats help in the mental training.

tks for reply!

i've already understand theree's something strange whit setup: the more a driver skill up the more he ask for a low downforce and low brake balance..
today i try this: Roccoli use all 5 test laps for setup, and d'andrea use an old setup whitout testing.. so d'andrea goes faster!

day by day.. i discover something about this game and i keep think that is an amazing 2d strategy game based on a ridiculous manager game!!

Acquire Talent 20 and the lowest possible experience.

Train Physical until: Minimum Weight, 100% health and reflexes/stamina 19
Train Speed until: Fast corners, Slow corners and Wet are at a minimum of 19.
Train Defense until: Focus and Decisions are at a minimum of 19.
Train Attacking until: Aggression, Bravery and Overtaking (Decisions aswell is trained through this) are at a minimum of 19.

Repeat all to upkeep stats at the minimums and health at 100%

Drop driver at 35 years at the latest.

I feel like experience makes a driver better actually, it makes the defending skill go down to the limit on the stats at least.

Agree with Yuri... Why low experience? Experience for defending is like talent for speed, the higher it is the bigger the graph goes. Can't think of any situation where experience made my drivers slower.... Only "over-training" drivers does that.

My tip: Avoid mental and technical training, and try to make attacking no higher than defending (on the picture graph I mean, not by actual numbers)

Edit: Also to add to your point, I'm 100% certain drivers have hidden attributes aswell. I've definitely had drivers in the past who perform better without attacking than they do with attacking, while other drivers are the complete opposite etc. It's almost like drivers come pre-programmed with a certain combination or "sweet spot" that will make them perform at their best and it's up to us to work it out where that is.

Kind of makes sense in real life terms. Some drivers are more talented than others, some naturally are just more aggressive etc. Nearly every driver has a difference mindset and some deal with pressure better than others. You can't really train two real drivers to be identical. Every single driver is unique, so in terms of iGP it makes sense to see the results vary. It's just the fact that we are completely blind as to what makes them fast or slow is the annoying part lol.

I think a lot this is down to personal experience, although I would recommend you take Jason's views above very seriously. He knows more about this than anyone I have come across & I have certainly learnt a great deal from him.

You may have 2 very similar drivers in terms of their stats, but as Jason says & I agree, they probably have hidden stats which make them behave quite differently.

I believe you can see this in qualifying results. Some drivers qualify well but don't race so well & vice versa. If you can find a driver that is good at both, you should win a lot of races.

I am not convinced that a 20 talent driver is always going to be better than a 19 talent. I see a lot of people in Rookie tiers who have latched on to the need for a 20 talent & so have hired one with all other stats very low. It could take 3 or 4 seasons of training before these drivers are going to be remotely competitive & I believe this causes a lot of players to become dis-enchanted & stop playing. There are some very nicely trained 19 & 18 talents, some even from level 5, who ought to be fast immediately & should last 5 or 6 six seasons at least.

If you want to race with the big boys later on, you will need a 20 talent, but you are going to be level 8 at least & probably level 10 by then, which is 125 races.

I know I say this a lot...Look at what the best players are doing with their drivers. Ok you can't see the detail, but you can get a good idea about what direction to take with training. See here for a list of the currently active top 10 players:
