I honestly do not agree, the game is also this, it will be the experience and your skill to make you understand if it will activate or not. If we start automating all the game mechanics, the game will go flat and we will be robots looking at a screen without doing anything. This is just my small and useless opinion, then free to think as you like.
While I do agree with Gaetano regarding the automation, I think adding a DRS line would benefit the game and be perfectly in line with the real world since F1 uses a dedicated line and sign as well.
Wow, a DRS line some corners before the actual zone. You ensure you're within 1 second of the leader at the demarcation line so that DRS is activated then reduce to PL1 for a few corners to so that you drop back far enough that you don't overtake the leader. Result, DRS every lap. Great for two car leagues.
That's actually also a valid idea to add more strategic depth tbh. My initial idea however was to have a DRS line for the actual activation zone. However I totally see the appeal of the DRS detection line as it is called irl as well.
And codingwise it shouldn't pose such a problem... I mean, it's a line and you just need to shift the already existing DRS system to this location.
My fear is that if we start removing the possible mistakes a player might make, the result would be a flattening of the game. We'll all watch a nice colorful train and the only thing left to do is put a brazilian song in the background and sing...brazil la la la la la la...A E I O U Y...???

Thanks for the suggestion! We’ll include that song as soundtrack. ❤️?

Thx for putting that song in my head.
For the next week
On the serious side of things, i agree with you, a drs line would only pull competitiveness down. And create trains
As for perfectly in line with real F1 i disagree, we see the game from an upward angle, drivers don’t, so i think in real life a pilot isn’t able to plan the use of kers the way we can, taking into account gaps with drivers in front and behind.
Not to mention the gaps we can overcome with kers, not realistic imo
