Hi ,

First of all , this is a great game !

Secondly i have a development question :
As it is my 1st season i focus development mainly on next season , my % off most of my parts are looking not to bad ( 50%).
But one part ( Internals ) next year's  development is not looking so good ( only 25% ) , because i cloned this part from a better team in mid this season.

Question : What to do to increase this part's next year develompent %  ? Put all development (designers) on Internals only for a while ? I focus on next year .

All advice welcome,
Gianfranco

The best thing to do would be to put more of the designers into the development of the internals than the other parts considering you said that the other parts are looking good, that should do the trick.

2 tips from my personal experience

1)Don't clone parts,I did it once and never did it again because it affected next season development too much, easy mistake to make though ;)
2)The more designers you have the better, right now I have 141 designers and only the 1 compulsory guy in commercial, I know you're not there yet but this should help you to progress in the right direction

I am usually hesitant to put anything negative on the forum, but in this case I shall make an exception.....(I now expect a flurry of messages pointing out examples of me being negative)

I don't agree with either of those tips.

If you search the forum, there are answers to both

Sorry to Hijack the post, but can anyone please give me an example of where cloning is a good thing and doesn't screw up next seasons development.

I was of the same opinion as DJ Morris. Commercial staff and cloning seem pointless.

I was of the same opinion as DJ Morris. Commercial staff and cloning seem pointless.

What makes a significant difference to the viability imo is the length of season break.

If next season is at a significantly higher development level than this season then cloning can be used with minimal impact.

If your car is fully developed with quite a few races to go then moving designers to commercial can improve finances but if it's too close to the end of the season the cost of ''retraining' staff designer>commercial>designer may outwegh the commercial income.

Andrew, just a thought, perhaps the design section of the rules could be copied into the guide? and/or a faq added to the gameplay assistance board. It seems to me that the this season/next season design question keeps popping up on a regular basis which implies it isn't obvious enough for people new to the game?

Sorry Andrew, I guess I must have cloned the part at the wrong part of the season back when I did it, maybe cloning parts near the end of the season is worth while I suppose.

For example if I had 100% (or a value I'm happy with) next season performance and 75% on this season performance then there would be no need  to worry about a decrease in  next season development so I might as well clone to get abit more performance in the last part of  season.

As for commercial, I never even bothered buying the facility so that I could focus on increasing my number of staff as I felt the money I was getting from my sponsors was enough in the long run to make that decision beneficial to me.  I feel I made the right decision considering I now have 66,000,000+ in money and a car with 100% performance at the beginning of most seasons, just passing on the ways that have worked for me.

Improved tip: It is okay to clone but I'd advise you to wait until you are pretty much happy with the next season performance before doing so.

Nothing to apologise for DJ.

Managers have to decide when to clone or whether to clone at all.

Question i have about my staff contracts :
can i see team morale somewhere ? As i tought cancelling contracts of staff is same as cancelling partner contracts -> reputation lowers .
i'd like to cancel my chief designer's contract and get a better one but like i mentioned i don't know if i should respect his contract and wait or cancel his contract .
Also : staff skill level stays same when i same change staff ?

Just get rid of him when you're ready to do so, I have never really kept a member of staff  until the end of their contract just for the sake of it, I don't see how it would effect you in any way unless you where going to sign that same member of staff again later down the line.

It works on a inidividual member of staff basis rather than it affecting the whole team (as far as I'm aware) I've never had any issues
