In my Staff page I have 1 Marketer when I do not have a Commerce to use him, so he is pointless. I want to use this marketer as a designer and I can not downgrade to 0, so is there any way to change the number of marketers to zero, or do I need at least 1 Marketer, Designer, Engineer and Mechanic.

Please can someone help,

I have tried to fire the Commerical Manager but it does not let me race, as I do not have all staff.

I've been playing for over half a year now with 1 (unused) commercial Manager, you have to have atleast 1 of every staff but you're doing the right thing to make your team get better (focusing on design), it certainly worked for me.

I'd call this a failure of documentation.

You do not need to have a commercial manager in order to race. I myself haven't had one since March and I was still able to race.
