Discontinuing Manual Promotion and Relegation

As of March 1, 2021, we are discontinuing manual relegation after having discontinue manual promotion almost one year ago.

Managers or leagues which experience an issue at the end of a season where the promotion or relegation zone, if enabled, does not automatically take place, will still receive assistance in correcting the issue.

We understand some players may not like this. Our goal with this action is to move closer to allowing for fuller tiers in leagues.

The thread will be kept open for a short time to allow discussion.

Please, can you explain in more detail what you mean?

I'm not exactly sure what you mean here. 

Are you referring to due to be promoted managers missing their spots due to not enough managers in ther tiers to activate promotion? 

We used to fulfill requests for players who wished to move up or down tiers, such as those in leagues with less activity where the promotion zone might be missing because most players were already in Elite, leaving few players in lower tiers, or relegating players who were too weak for Elite because they just happened to move up very quickly.

We are now closing the window on accepting these requests. We discontinued fulfilling requests for manual promotion a long time ago, and are now in the process of discontinuing fulfilling requests for relegation as well.

To re-emphasize one of the points I made in my original post, this doesn't affect anybody requesting assistance for promotion and relegation where either zone is active but did not correctly execute the promotion or relegation actions automatically.

Hello Yunus, I know that manual promotion (and soon manual demotion) has been discontinued but since in our league's case we were affected by a bug, I feel it is justified to at least ask. The elite tier of my league Official Formula Zero was affected by the qualifying bug where a small number of managers actually get to qualify, this ended up giving someone who was in the bottom two enough points to get out of relegation. As a league we decided this was unfair and are now trying to reverse the results of the bugged race. The season has ended and the affected managers, linked below, have agreed to swap back and essentially remove the effect the bugged GP had on the standings. Could a mod or dev please do that for us before our next season starts on Monday at 17:00 GMT? If it isn't possible to swap them I understand but it will be unfair on the manager whose championship was affected by the bug.

It does feel as though you are trying to destroy this game.  You force leagues to fill up their lower tiers with bots just to get on the radars of new joiners and without manual promotion or relegation leagues will die and more players will just leave the game.  It definitely won’t fufill the objective you want!

It’s probably more an attempt at trying to streamline the leagues a little. It’s clear that there is too many league for active players at the moment. There should be an effort made to try and link similar leagues together then start to work out exactly who is out there playing and not bot accounts

Done! This is precisely one of the things that is exempt from our change regarding manual promotion and relegation. Since it was an issue arising from a game related error it will always receive support.

That would be because feedback like this is outside my scope of control, so I don't tend to venture too much into that area.

Ah ok, I think I misunderstood originally ? I understood it as no matter what manual demotion/promotion will be discontinued. So yeh, quite encouraging to hear that ?
