This has happened I think 4 times to me now, what happens is that for example during a race I decide to switch to hard tyres during the pitstop instead of the soft tyre that I had preset for the next pitstop, so I change the tyre compound from soft to hard on the pitsop strategy tab in the 2D Viewer. Then I decide to pit a couple of laps earlier considering the hard tires are more durable, I then select unschedueled pit stop and make sure that enough fuel  and the hard tyres are ready for the stop (which they where). My driver comes into the pitlane and for no reason the soft tyres are fitted to the car.

Has anyone else experienced this?

As I say this has happened before so it isn't a one off, I was looking forward to a really interesting finish to my race :(

EDIT: The symptoms of the problem are that I change the tire that will be fitted at the next pit stop, and then the original preset tires are still fitted. This only happens when I change my pit strategy during the race.

From my experience, I don't think it's not necessary to select unscheduled pitstop, so maybe that's it.

Just happened to me in last race. Had wets selected on both options to be safe and still ended up with inters fitted...

Matt, did you uncheck the follow strategy box?  if your strategy had you on wets that could be why.

I asked our sim developers to look in to what occurred during your race, Matt. They said that it followed your pre-race strategy which was set to use intermediates. As Bill said, you would have needed to uncheck "follow pre-race strategy".

My solution to this issue was rather than ticking the unscheduled pitstop box I just left that alone and  selected the pit button is the far bottom right corner and I've not had the issue since (a fair share of wet races with strategy changes mid race too).
