Is Quallifing on Inters Possible, as i've tried twice now to do so and both times its just stuck me on hards. First time i didnt chance the weather settings and thought it must of been that, so the 2nd time i changed it to 3 laps, but it still put me on hards, ruined my stratagy both times

This has also happened to me three times now. What happens is that I see it raining before quali then stops 5 or so minutes before, I chose to qualify on inters as the track will likely still be damp and yet it chucks us on to dry tyres.

I opened up a thread in the bugs forum here:
http://igpmanager.com/play/?url=forum-thread/4203

I wasn't sure first or second times that I changed the weather settings but on my last one I definitely changed the settings and like Kat, I was put on Hards.

Would like some clue as to if this is a bug or just that you can't quali on wet tyres when its not raining.

Make sure that both the Stint 1 tyres are set to Intermediates and whatever the current weather condition is is set to Intermediates, and you should qualify on Intermediates. If the "If it stops raining, after XX laps change to YY tyres' is set to a dry compound, you will qualify on the dry compound.

That is the point, I put stint 1 as inters and I set the "If it stops raining, after laps change to Hard tyres" so in theory I should qualify on Inters no matter what

Not sure what you mean by this though

"whatever the current weather condition is is set to Intermediates"

No the system doesn't work that way. When rains stop before qualification it will automatically switch you to the your dry compound choice set in your weather strategy. the duration of the stint only works when race has started.
So if you really want to qualify on intermediate, you should do as Harrison said.

That doesn't make sense though. What Harrison said is what I did. The only bit I don't understand what he meant was the bit about the current weather conditions

This is the place (underlined) where you didn't do what Harrison said. It should have been: "If it stops raining, after 5 laps change to Intermediate tyres", for your strategy to work.

Well then surely this is a bug, as if I do that, my weather strategy during the race will be wrong. IMO what you chose as stint 1 should be what you qualify on

We've taken some time to review the situation and while it is not a bug (a bug is when something is broken / not working / glitchy, but this is performing exactly as it should), it is more confusing than it needs to be.

We've decided that as a solution we will convert the # laps for rain start/stop tyres to a water depth value instead. This will mean, for example that if you set your wet weather tyres to be used at any water depth above 1mm then they would have been used in qualifying in these cases, but perhaps not in the race, when it had dried out fully. Currently they would just change because it had "stopped raining" which isn't what you had intended for it to do.

EDIT: Just to let you know, this will be included when the new tyre compounds are added, so you can expect to see it change when Super Soft and Medium compounds are introduced.
