I am having my first race at Silverstone on Tuesday. forecast looks fine, no rain expected. This is an important race as I can still clinch P5 in the last race. Any ideas on strategy? As a rule of thumb i don't use SS and push hard on S, but tire temps meant I had lttle pace at Austria. Does silverstone have similar characteristics? The race is 26 LAPS

Tyre wear for each tyre

SS = 17%
S = 9%
M = 6%
H = 4%

S-S-S or S-S-M seem like the obvious choices

I’d do 10s-8s-8s.

yeah that was my initial thought process. Except with more fuel to push, and less at the start to get the start and undercut

trust me, the equation i use is 70/x+2

in the case of mediums its 70/6=11.66
11.66+2=13.66
Itll work fine

And heres the reason the numbers are used
70 cause 30% is the cutoff point so 100-70=30
and +2 because thats what it rounds up to as the wear on each tyre decreases lap by lap and by the end of what should have been its life, they end up with an excess of 2 laps

what does 13.66 mean. I do 6 times 26, which is 156. divided by two is 78 per tire if you run exactly half way. what would my tires be on your Strat

on mine, after going mid way youd have around 2-3 percent left, my equation doesnt say how long it can go percent-wise

Bit risky, and I tend to push hard on tires, especially S and M. Are tire temps an issue at Silverstone?

You sure? You can push harder on M, and with this new update heavy meds are back into the equation
