Free practice, time trial ... Why is that, I win the free practice smoothly, but I will be 14th on the time trial ...  that this is because my car is heavier ... I didn't just start the game ... By the way, the first 3 places started with the same amount of fuel.  Is the timer just a RANDOM sequence ?!  I'm starting to feel like it ...

The practice times don't really show your actual pace, also yes, qualifying can be a bit random, it would be boring to have the same 5 cars on the top of the grid

EDIT: I just checked your league and it's the first race of the season, it's normal since the cars are very close in design

If your cars are equal on the first race of the season, it can be engine/fuel/tyre supplier, which ones do you use?
Also, qualifying is usually random to some extent, it sucks but we can't do much about it I guess

I understand all that.  That's not the problem ... The problem is that everyone sets up tactics according to the values of free practice.  This is a non-negligible factor.  Times have to reflect the strength and weakness of the car ... This random sequence on the timers occurs several times during the season.  You win 2-3 races in a row, you have the best car, then in the next race you start from 9th place ... There is no logic in this ...

Forget practice times of other teams, many are sandbagging (the term coming from the habit of real racing teams to put bags of sand into their cars). So their best times are done before applying design points, repairing the cars and/or even healing the driver to appear weaker and are not representing the pace they can really do.
