Leave and Rejoin trick

Is the ‘leave and rejoin’ trick/bug still active, where you seem to get some advantage? Someone’s done it in our league and has been surprisingly doing well! 

If still active, does it just last 1 season?

I don't think it's a bug or a trick. 
In order to get a slightly better car starting the next season, you have to race in another league. That's a 2 league leaving fee to pay. Leaving and re-joining the same league just resets the car design points as far as I know.

I left the league last season to get myself moved into the Pro tier. When I re-joined my car's highest part was 14 and the lowest was 1. This season the lowest is 15 and the Highest is 30. But it will be back to default car design next season.

Yes, it is. It's particularly useful if you use multiple CDs per seasons, because it tricks the game into thinking that you have done a full season with your selected CD, so balancing out your car (no actual adavantage in terms or design points, just rebalances). It only lasts one season of course. If you use only 1 CD per season there is no need to do this unless you want to change your car's stats before the start.

There is no performance advantage of leaving and re-joining.

As Titan Jr says it allows a manager to re-balance their start of season design if they do it during the break between seasons. It can also be a handy trick if you've had a low level CD or one with poor Strength / Weakness for most of the previous season and have managed to secure a better one during the break.

There is a longstanding bug where teams who join mid-season have a 16 design point advantage at the beginning of the following season. Currently the only way to remove this advantage is for the manager to leave, temporarily join an interim league and then re-join the original league.

Hi Kevin, I really can't understand how this bug still exists within the game where if a player joins mid season they are awarded 16 more points than everyone else. This is a huge unfair advantage and has been an issue within the game for well over a year now. Most hosts are not even aware of this and the few that are, don't bother trying to do the workaround that you yourself practise. Probably because they fear losing players which is understandable. Why has IGP spent so long updating this game to its newest version without rectifying something as unfair and problematic as this, really bafflles me tbh!

Thank you Kevin, I believe it would have been because of the reason you mentioned, he was inactive for most of the season and had a bad CD and had got a new one, so just resetting the car. Just a few people in the league were a little sceptical, especially as he got podiums the first 2 races.
