My components are all 60%+ for this season but are less than 5% for next season. How come when i change my focus from this season to next season, my designers take the same amount of time to make a new part for this season as for next (with the same amount of designers)? Shouldnt it be much quicker to make better parts for next season since the parts are a lot worse? Pls help

Make sure the slider on the bar is all the way to the right and click SAVE. Have you done any cloning?  If so, Dev on next season parts are slower.

I usually put designers on a part until the date is today or the next couple of days and I then do that for 2 or 3 other parts until I run out of designers, click save and freshe the page as the dates do change.  I then change the number of designers on each part again until I get the best spread on the parts.  I only work on two or three parts at anyone time, unless you are very new then the progress is much better.  Right now I have to put about 50 on each part to get a good turn around so I have about 150 designers.

If this is advice you already know then it's still good for those reading the posts.

I could be wrong here, but I think the answer to the question is that the rate of developent is a result of both next and this season components added together not just evaluating how the next season developemt looks.

Examples

This season performance: 100%
Next season performance:      5%

This equals 105 so the developers work on a basis of that number (105/200)

It doesn't matter if you had 60% this season and 45% for next season, it still adds up to 105% so the developemnt would be as fast as if you had 100% and 5%, the 2 numbers added together is what matters, I don't think any other variables come into play.

I could be wrong but that's how I've been thinking about it for the last year or so.

I think the development rate is entirely based on your current season development progress. That means if your current season is low, development is much quicker regardless of next season development progress. If this season development is high, it will slow down both current and next season development.

The reason for this is so that if someone starts a season with a very high development car, their next season development will be slow, so that the one person can't contiunally dominate season after season by starting each season with a very highly developed car. So the trick is to either find a balance so that your performance from one season to the next doesn't vary wildly OR sacrifice a season by leaving that season's develpment low, and developing the next seasons car quickly, so that you can start the following season with very high development.

Development should ALWAYS be set to 100% next season in my opinion. You can spy to upgrade your parts for this season (just spying on whoever is top of the championship usually works) if you're in your 1st season.

I actually cracked this some time ago and it is as you say. There's some math I use such that I can map out my entire season's worth of design, but basically, the lower your percentage on the current season, the bigger the gains you make, but these gains are split between both the current season and the next.
