Could we know what the tire temps are in practice, it would help working out how hard we can push right from the off please?

You do realize, that "more data in practice, please" coming from "Lewis Hamilton" is astonishing, since he is not known for intense data analysis and preparation?

You already have the track temp, that's enough to figure out your PL.

Not necessarily, it’s not an exact science. Could have the same temp at Monaco and Belgium but they would be completely different push levels

That's exactly my point or what I was driving at. The game should not be an exact science, the managers should be able to figure out something as uncomplicated as PL.

So you agree that some tracks will have completely different push levels when they’re at the same temperature, yet think people should just be able to figure it out? Why don’t we take the fuel usage figure away as well and only put the distance for each lap on there, then people can just work it out themselves 👀.

When you’ve played it for a long time it is quite straight forward as you know from experience, but I don’t think it’s a bad idea to add something in to practice that allows you to work it out - tyre temp after the lap for example, maybe even bringing in push levels for each lap to see how it changes both temps and fuel usage.

I disagree. The game should be challenging, not lazy. There's no fun in the game spoon feeding managers all the info. Players should pay their dues and get the knowledge from experience.

I think it’s a Good suggestion/idea..... there is a bit more data needed for practice. Not only tore temp. But yes actually the practice is completely senseless. It’s just to figure out the right setup and actual tirewear.....

So maybe we should create or find a suggestion post where we write ideas for new data in practice....

Like did the driver a good or bad lap, does the tire feel good or worse (like this suggestion here)

All in all, YES practice should be improve a bit

Practice is just pointless as the set ups are the same every season. It should be where you find out information such as fuel usage, tyre temps, degradation etc, that’s what practice is about.
Ideally they’d not only bring in something to do with tyre temps, but also changes to the set up depending on the weather, and your car development. It’s too easy to have the perfect setting every race

I also agree it's a good idea. After all, in real life this sort of information would be available to team management. It doesn't make sense to give you tyre wear, weather conditions, water depth and lap time but not tyre temperature.

IMO, another useful improvement for practice would be the ability to specify fuel load. This would allow you to determine the impact of fuel weight on lap time.

The devs switched off driver errors for qualifying quite a few months ago. Ideally they should do the same for practice to allow you to determine the effect of changing suppliers or assigning design points. At the moment you can't do this because you don't know whether or not the lap time was affected by a driver error.

Of course, there are a few workarounds, copious notes made immediately after the race can help inform you for future seasons and for those with enough time and enthusiasm you can do a quick race shortly before your main race to work out optimum push level.

I used to play an F1 management game, were you had no clue of fuel and tyre consumption prior race. In race, you were unable to change anything. So, you got to know beforehand. To make matters worse, that game had lots of different tracks (~100). So, you were constantly on a track you had no clue about. A true nightmare!

In iGPM u can react during race and there are not that many tracks. So, I don't see the need to know tyre temps and push levels in advance.

If not tyre temp what about track surface temp, I've been wanting surface temps for a very long time. 😔

I like what Kevin said, a choice of stints to run in practice would be nice. Long-run or Qualifying-run. ðŸ˜Ž

If i don't get all the data i can't analyze it nob jockey.

I think we should have tire temps in practice. This would let us be able to see what the tire temps are on a flying lap in practice on each set of tires at neutral push. This would mean we are able to adjust our tire selection and push levels as a result. It has happened before where tires overheat and your race is ruined as a result.

This is a not a good idea in my opinion.  Too much information devalues the game and not sure tyre temperature after 1 lap in each compound is useful anyway especially as track conditions will most likely change before the race starts.

Keep in mind practice is ran on push level 3 for all compounds. So the tyre temps will be screwy. That's why fuel and wear is different in the race from what is wrote in the practice laps.

I downvote this just because of how it would probably take away the challenge of offline leagues
