Does KERS work when I don't attend the race?

I am wondering if I should pay 20 million to activate KERS in "research facility".
Does KERS work when I don't attend the race? I can only set the pre-race setups and strategies due to complex reasons.

I think so, yes. As long as you activate (is on by default I believe) the "Driver controlled Kers" option in your race settings.

It does work when you don't attend races. The driver will choose when to deploy it throughout the race, using up the full 100% by the end of the race. This is often far from optimal though, and the manager can do a much better job by taking control during a live race.
