I'm back with another unpopular suggestion that only 3 people gonna like. This suggestion is an alternative to a full qualifying (https://igpmanager.com/forum-thread/43305) which while being a good idea it might be too complex to implement and it would require managers to dedicate more time (i think it will take at least more than 5 minutes if it is one session and a lot more if it is a full one like F1)
Currently the game works as followed : Strategy locks 10 minutes before the race and then qualifying runs automatically with the tire selected in stint one (tire temps and fuel are the optimal) . After 3-4 minutes qualifying is finished and managers can join live the race
My suggestion is as followed :
Strategy locks 10 minutes before the race. Strategy will include a new qualifying push level for the people who can't attend.
One minute after that you can join a live qualifying session where your cars will leave pitlane with the tire selected for stint one and optimal fuel (Initially I wanted the manager to be able to select the exact fuel but the game will have to implement a new fueling system which will add fuel by 0.1L and not by 1L as it is now).
During the outlap the managers will be able to control the push level of the driver
During the hotlap managers will be able to control the push level. Additionally managers could have a 30% (number is random) boost charge to use (to add another strategic element). For offline managers an AI will use it
During the inlap managers will still be able to change push level. This could be skipped to save some time
For 2 driver league the process will be repeated
Two minutes after qualifying ends the grid will be ready and managers can join live the race
Time will be
9 to 4 minutes before the race there will be qualifying with the above procedure (if the inlap is scrapped and the qualy is on 2X speed it can be done)
3 minutes before the race managers can join the race live. The rest of the race continues as always
Time is there to show how I think it would work. I'm open to suggestions on how this can be improved. While not perfect I think this system is an improvement to the current qualifying mess
