Hi all,
I have noticed that in Section 2.1 of Rules & Regualtions it says that "a component may only be redesigned once every 48 hours at a minimum". How many designers does it take to reach this limit but still doesn't waste staff? Right now I have 20 staff on each component, 140 in total. Designer skill is 10. Chief Designer is lv6.

This will change over the course of the season. If I remember correctly, the higher your current season's development percentage, the more developers it will take to develop a new part in the same amount of time.

Does anybody know how the Chief Designer influences the development of new parts ?

If yuo have a higher level chief designer, so for example, mine is like Level 10, you'll get a higher percentage in parts. So mine is 100% for example. So as you progress through the levels, i'd change my chief designer at around level 5/6

@Jason - I would say you are wasting staff now , though you are in a 1 car league. Since you can only develop a part every other day, you really should have enough staff on hand to do half the car a day (well 3 parts then 4 parts). It does require logging in daily and moving the staff between parts. also it will allow you to see how many staff are truely needed to develop a part 1 ore step. 20 may be overkill right now, but soon you may need 35+ to get it done in the next day.
@Hans - what chaz said is correct. Also keep in mind that since lower level designers cann't get to a 100% car, development slows as you reach the designer's cap. So early on, what took 10 designers to get you 10% improvement on this season's design, as you get to the cap it may take 20 designers to get 2%
