So i realised some drivers only like adjustments to the theoretical setups.

e.g. driver 1 prefers -6 to the ride height from the theoretical best, while driver 2 prefers +2 ride height from the theoretical best.

so, my question is, is the drivers prefered setup the fastest? or is the theoretical best still faster

Hello,

The taller your driver is, the lower their perfect ride height will be, and therefore the faster they will be in the races.
Driver mistakes are still turned on for practice, making lap times achieved quite unrepresentative of your actual race pace - practice is good for working out fuel use and tyre wear per lap.
Overall, your drivers will do faster laps while on the ideal setup, rather than the lap they did their fastest practice lap.

Also, perfect set up only applies to the driver you have used tokens on for the reasons Connor has explained.  Theoretically if your second driver was a different height and you spent tokens on them as well the perfect set up would be different to that for your first driver.
