Boost Stuck On

What did you try to do?
Boost a tiny amount to get within DRS range
(About 0.1 seconds needed)

What happened instead?
Boosted straight past my rival giving him DRS and wasting half a tank of boost

Yes, this bug has been around for as long as I have been playing and many others have experienced it too

Additional comments:
This needs a fix ASAP
It only takes a split second for your connection to freeze and it will ruin your race.

Why not instead cut the boost when connection is lost rather than sticking on?

Not recently no, but it is a common and recurring problem which I’m sure they are already aware of.
It would be difficult to recreate deliberately as switching off WiFi for example would lose connection entirely.

It shouldn’t be too difficult to fix, just make boost disconnect when the game disconnects

It all depends on what was the last input your device sent to the server, either situations aren't good at any point of the race (indeed some parts of it are worse than others, but all in all, you don't want/expect to be disconnected mid-race).
Overall not using boost is better as you can get back into the race as if it didn't happened, specially if it wasn't close to the end, but you can get the same situation I got myself on the last lap and people would get mad anyway 😅

Yh, had it both ways now. 
@Kevin what you described just happened although there was no loss of connection, boost cut approaching the DRS Zone.

I’m finding it hard to believe a game that’s been going so long can be this badly coded 😅

If it’s a problem to fix it why not just remove boost altogether? 

I know this is slightly off topic but my boost always seems to turn its self off even when I'm still pressing pressing button🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️
