I wonder if changing the salaries and contracts to per season would be better overall. Seems that could help struggling teams with finances also. So instead of a number of races the driver and staff sign for a number of seasons at a set price per season (example 600k per season for 2 or 3 seasons like real contracts instead of per race for 55 races). This also would have drivers that are retiring at the end of contracts end of season rather mid season also.
