We have all been there when we have good grids.. It comes to a certain lap and then the board lights up like it's NASCar time...

You get big blocks of cars that pit on the same lap and 1 person always gets robbed in the pit lanes.. It's been an issue for a while now..

I really do think that the 1st step at addressing the issue would be to have 1 box per car.

It would open gaps within the pit exit for drivers to slot in to.. Yes they will still lose some time.. but that is your own issue for pitting at the same time as others..

It opens up more options for managers to either "Stack" the drivers in the pit lanes and the other option of splitting the drivers by 1 or more laps.

Other issues with the pits do need to be address. (Speed limits and some other small ones.) but I think this is the 1st thing that needs to be looked at.

(I am writing this post on the back of Jools Hogg losing out 2 to 2.5 seconds at Monaco that is live as I type this.. So I am posting on myself and others issues.)

What do you think of 1 box per team?

PS.. Yes I know this is not a new subject.. I wanted to put a fresh and more reasoned post about it and also offer an actual solution to the problem.

I thought the game already assigned one box for each car.

Ehhh ?? Come on James..

If you enter 2 drivers with a 1.2 gap and you are the only ones in the pit lane.. they maintain a 1.2 second gap..

If both drivers have a 4 second pit stop each.. the 2nd driver will have to wait 2.8 seconds before the box is clear and that would mean they exit 6.8 seconds behind.

James, James, James, James.... tut tut lad. ;)

Agreed with OP also, fuel usage in the pit lane. If on full push it will use the same logic that is still in the race.

I guess I've never had my drivers pit together with that short of a gap, but I don't ever recall experiencing this.
