Nick
This happens to me about every second race or so and I wanted to see how often it happens to the community...
When racing, I usually lap the slower AFK cars, however, many times as I pass a lapped car on the corner/straight before the DRS zone, this same lapped car gets the DRS on the next straight and re-overtakes me?
This may be an issue that my car may be underdeveloped, however, I don't think that is the case as I am able to lap my opponents in the first place. The frustration comes in when I end up racing the lapped cars and trying to get out of the 1-second gap so that they are not able to take track position back, which usually ends up with me using some battery. Thoughts?
Not sure about the realism of this because we not often seeing Mazepin going for the overtake on Hamilton every weekend lol.
It happens to me almost every race, the AI car is at a reasonable pace to drop down to PL1 and sit behind then for DRS and 1 of 2 things happens..
1. They are in front but THEY get DRS.
2. They slow down much quicker than they had done on every other turn and my driver goes in front of them giving them DRS. (Notably Monaco, Brazil and Singapore)
It's annoying as ****.
Given that you are in South Africa and i am in NZ i think it may be a latency issue where the backmarker is not showing exactly where they should be.
I don't think backmarker drs should go away, i think it should show a green light like it used to except it shows that you are within the 1sec range rather than showing that you are actually using DRS, which is pointless, and soon enough to be able to use some boost if you need to. You can see if they boost on the app so you know if they are attempting to pull away, but for the issue you and i have you're basically just guessing.
If you're in the UK or Europe and basically sat on the server you most likely won't have a clue what it's like.
