I'd also suggest a feature where you can pay a local boy to throw nails out onto the track on a specific spot as to take out competition. Of course a team can guess which local boy plans to throw said nails and get him arrested for trespassing. *end sarcasm*
I like the idea. Maybe elaborate a bit more. I feel like the amount of performanced gained is too high. Something like the chance that the design of the cloned part doesnt work too well and give you negative performace.
Only thing is that when your car is best by far, it won't be hard to guess who's spying on you as pretty much everyone will be.
I don't completely dislike the idea but it has a downside. It might prevent managers from catching up the cars that are 100% at the start of the season and my guess is that the spying options exists to give other managers the chance to catch up. Not having that option can result in even more managers going for the 100% car way.
Right now, I´m in a (small) championship lead while I had a 60% car at the start of the season and spied my way up during the season. Then it comes down to consistency and strategy and not by flat out winning every race.
its an interesting idea with a very big flaw.....if your top of the league basically everyone is spying on you, its just what happenes when you your good, people copy you
I understand some of the comments but as you would only be able to choose one competitor each week, it would not detract from cloning but give some "spygate" aspect to the game, i.e. help the realism.
I remember watching the F1 on the BBC last season and Eddie Jordan was pointing out how the technical chief for RedBull had switched teams to Mercedes (or McLaren I forget which team) and when he switched he basically made a carbon copy of the front wing he designed for RedBull. They showed two pictures of the identical front wing and sure enough you could see how blatantly he took his design with him to another team. Yet there were no repercussions, it's allowed in fact things like this happen all the time and I'm glad they aren't punished for doing so; because if they were punished then all you would hear would be a bunch of children complaining that someone copied them and how life is unfair and blah blah blah
Basically this sport (which is what I'm judging igp is duplicating) needs to be looking at each others teams to progress otherwise it wouldn't be a sport at all and would become about who has the most money and spent the most time here, meaning new people like myself wouldn't stand a chance of progression. Now I understand you're saying don't get rid of spying all together but if you're racing in a league and you're doing really well, my guess is that chances are everyone will be spying on your car, meaning that even if you guess one correct manager is spying on you, you're only hurting one person and everyone else would be getting away with it. Now what happens when I repeatedly stop the same person spying on me? I would be making sure he doesn't win, why?
