Nico
Was the 10 secs deserved though? In my opinion, the Radio messages were absolute crap there, 5 secs would be enough, especially because no one cares now since the finishing is the same... and don't forget what Lewis did as well, that battle was nothing but dirty driving
Edit: I'm more than ready for the war here...
I do not agree with the +10 seconds penalty either, as I believe it should be a more severe penalty.
The reasons being: that part of the track is normally raced at 300 kph. Verstappen choose to initially lift off, and then very importantly, Verstappen choose to apply the brakes, whilst the car was in the middle of the narrow section of track (to around 150 kph), all the time looking at his left wing mirror to see where Lewis was on the track.
The slight left turn from Verstappen to the cover the track as the cars were enroaching further solidifies this opinion, that it was a deliberate manoeuvre. Which side of the track was Lewis meant to pass him back on, if Verstappen insisted on wanting to be on the middle of the narrow section of track?
We may have some biases naturally, but view the onboard angles online, especially from Verstappen. Note how many times he looks a his left wing mirror. This is why, in my opinion, it was a deliberate manoeuvre, a manoeuvre in the same category as Schumacher 1994 Adelaide and Schumacher 1997 Jerez
Ps. And no war needed, just race discussions ? But loving the silence from the Verstappen fans, maybe they are thinking up reasons why it was Lewis's fault that Max brakes in the middle of a narrow section of track, that is normally taken at 300 kph
