My suggestion is to add more data to post race reports (both in-game and csv or at least only the last one) on the driver level:

  • Please add decimals for tyre wear data as now it’s rounded which doesn’t allow for accurate tyre wear modelling

  • Also to have data of the end-of-lap water level would be great, so it would be clear on what lap rain begun, ended or changed it’s intensity etc

  • Temperate, not sure if the temperature of the track surface even exist in the game, so having air temperature data would still be great to analyse if it has any actual impact on tyre wear or pace

  • General weather conditions (sunny, cloudy etc)

  • Tires temperature, which I’m pretty much sure exists but no exact numbers are shown anywhere at the moment, still would be great to see it at least in the post race report

  • Average push level at the end of the lap, which is probably also recorded but not shown (may be sensitive as some would not want to share this data)

  • Gained/lost positions per lap as sometimes one starts among the top 10 but ends up behind driver going 20th after the very first lap and the lost positions are not obvious if you don’t see the qualification results

  • Some minor data, such as engine and driver health

Also I have a few ideas for a post race report on the race level:

  • Gained/lost positions per race

  • Average pace

  • Average pit stop time

Season level (doesn't exist atm):

  • Extractable season results - one button to download a report that contains data of all races winners, pole sitters and fast lappers (to animate the season history)

I will edit this post and add more if I have some other ideas on either of these reports.

PS: edited to put the season level report in the original post.

Comments on the idea:

- Driver level:
+ Tyre wear: Good idea, it is also like the fuel increment discussed in another thread.
+ Water level - clarification: only need to show from which lap, the water level was high enough for inters (0,1-3,3) and wets (3,1-5), let's say wet from 3,1
+ Temperature: to keep things simple, the track temp depends mostly on the air temp. The air temp doesn't change much between a race (i guess only 1 or 2 degrees)
+ General weather: include this in the water level
+ tires temperature: ok
+ Push level: not needed, because if you don't control the race, the push level will be Neutral, or depends on the AS you set.
+ engine and driver health: same reason as above, you can divide your total health loss to the number of laps.
- Race level:
+ Positions: Agreed, but maybe you can just spend some small time to count :)
+ Average pace: ok, but you can just take some time to calculate it!
+ Average pit stop time: no idea

I love data, hence I second this proposal

Thanks for you feedback. Just FYI I have started setting up a solution to calculate everything I need from average pit stop related time loss to tyre wear and pace increase progression from the start towards the end of the race, so I already partially have the data I need, but I think it would be useful to have it all already pre-calculated and ready for analysis, so you don’t need to care about doing any calculations by any mean. And still I’m not sure my model is calculating everything right at the moment and I also would be very happy to see some new inputs such as those described in my post, as we have many many yet hidden things to analyse and gain insights into.

If you started doing that, chances are you have an idea about how to statistically determine all of those which is already a huge advantage over the rest of the people.

Some people around can already figure out down to two decimals and with the little data available the fuel loads and tyre wear based on push level, FE and TE.

I’m mostly against this. Not a fan of removing the unexpected from the game entirely.

Positions gained/lost and maybe some other harmless stats could be nice though.

There are actually 2 sides of that: curiosity and knowledge.

First of all it's a management game, so from my personal perspective it's fun and entertaining to see as many data as possible and play with it. Like a game of its own.
Second, I also used to play the game the 'old-fashioned' way mostly relying on my own experience, things I had learned from others and by my own mistakes. Then they made it possible to extract race results and it started with pure curiosity, but suddenly I understood that the extractable data can be used for both entertainment and gaining real benefits.

Now I feel that I'm missing something on the 'using-data-for-benefits' side. Even though from all those years I've been playing the game using different approaches I know that figures is not everything, it might be worth trying this side to see if it works out. But I ablosutely agree that there still should be the unexpected, that's why I like those races where it starts or stops raining all of a sudden.

Oh and 1 more very important idea I forgot about while I was writing my post.

Can we please have extractable season results? Nothing special but the results of all races of the season up to the last one (if it’s a current one) or just the results all races of the season in one single csv file would already be a very very nice addition to what we have now.

Of course it would be way cooler to have some other data like the pole sitter and the fast lap driver (and the name of the team of course), so some nice charts can be built based on it. Many people really like those stats of who has had the most victories, poles and fast laps throughout the season.

It’s very important to me personally as I’m trying to record the history of my league and it’s nearly impossible to manually extract the results of races of a particular season as we don’t have visible date periods of past seasons, so you can’t do it if you don’t know the exact dates of all its races.
