Driver & Staff Question

Are you able to "rank up" your drivers and staff every time you train them or race with them? Do their ratings gradually increase throughout time? For example, my driver, Favio Maneiro, is rated with a 3. Over time, after winning some races, if that happens, or even just completing races, will his rating go up? I personally think that he has a lot of racing potential for my team and I want to keep him even as my team and I "level up".

PS. On that note, I was also wondering what the green and blue bars indicate under the driver's name.

yes he will rank up if you keep training him

Drivers will "level up" but staff won't. You'll have to recruit a new staff member to get a higher level.

 
The green bar just shows how far towards level 20 the driver is and the blue bar how far towards the next level (ie 4 for that driver).

Staff members do in fact level up, you just have to train that aspect of the staff, such as if your designer is level 11 vs. your development level 12, you just need to keep training the design staff even though they are fully developed. I haven't done any real staff development after getting them all skilled to 20, however I'll see if what I've just said still applies when I get the chance to train staff again.

I think your staff will level up faster if you hire Giedo van der Garde.

I'm happy to be corrected if I'm wrong but I've never noticed my doctor level up even though I normally train Health after most races (doesn't mean it hasn't happened of course, just that I haven't noticed it).

I agree with I.B: Staff members do not climb levels no matter how much or what you train them.
I had a staff member that, by the moment i hired him, he was almost jumping to next level. He had max experience, max charisma and half morale.
So, i thought  : "if he is almost jumping to next level if i train him in morale and reach max too, he will jump..."  Forget it ! The blue bar never moved a single milimeter.
Ended up with full morale and remanined exactly as when i hired him.
On the other hand, i tried too to lvl up another member through experience item. Same process, same result. Forget it.

I wish i could give a more positive tip, but unfortunatly,  based in my experiences above (and others i did not mentioned) i cant.
Adding the fact i do not know or heard of 1 single manager that had 1 single staff member climbing a single level.... and we all train staff too after everyrace....
