I personally think the results of the beta tests should be made public.

I love the idea and intention of the new update, but it's left me literally not knowing what is going on from race to race. One race it's possible for the softs to go to 20% and still be quick, another it's not even viable for them to go past 40%. Fuel has been made more important apparently, but from my observations the majority of races fuel load is completely irrelevant. It's still not possible to overtake in the wet, yet you can now start on a 3 stop in the wet, change to a 2 stop, doing 50+ litre stints and still be in to win the race (which is absolutely mental).

Would it also be possible to have a few questions answered by Jose or someone else in the know?

1. How many beta testers are there? (because the whole community of managers are at the whim of a handful of managers who might have their own prejudices and ideas as to what direction this game should go)

2. Can I ask as to what ratio 1 and 2 car leagues were tested? (because the characteristics are completely different in a 1 and 2 car league)

3. Will driver height affecting qualifying be rectified any time soon?

Would really appreciate any answers here.

Thanks, P.A.B.

Hello,

Since I don’t see any suggestion in this topic I move to Offtopic.

  1. The beta team is formed by 20 members and the feedback team by 22 members.

  2. We picked the most selected kind of league (by far) 1-car league, 100%, 2x.

  3. You can read the roadmap on the blog! As you mentioned “any time soon”. :)

Oh, I understand! I got confused after so many questions. Usually suggestion aren’t personal opinions and have something constructive or reasons. Unfortunately beta testing results are under NDA for obvious reasons. I mark the topic as rejected! Thank you. ?

Thanks for replying so quickly with answers mate. Appreciated.

Yeah, I mixed up suggestions with personal opinion. I'll try to refrain from that in future.

Are there any plans to increase the beta testing pool? I am concerned that such a small amount of testers can't give an comprehensive analysis of new characteristics that can be inclusive of all managers playing the game. It's also a bit concerning that it's tested only on a 1 car league, as the dynamics between 1 and 2 car leagues are world's apart in some aspects. But I guess that's something 2 car leagues are going to have to deal with.

Hello Patrick,

For sure, at some point if I find time I will invite to the beta team the most helpful managers. The stages of the project that concerns you (balancing) are three, we’re currently in the 3rd: collect live data from the game and tweak the changes based on analysis. This one is taking more time due to the winter, Christmas and New Year holidays (we do like to spend time with family sometimes :P). We took the most picked option of league configuration to settle the basics of this balancing and continue to tweak it, it isn’t over!

Oh absolutely! Time isn't an issue for me, and anyone who demands you miss out on personal lives for this game is being unreasonable!

Maybe you can invite 20 beta testers from the most helpful managers of 2 car leagues to give us 2 car leaguers a voice? Democracy and all that :P

I don't see what would be different from testing in a 1 car league vs 2 cars.

At the end of the day, it's still the same:

32 cars
Dirty air or lack thereof
Drs effect
Tyre wear depending on length.
etc...

The set rules of the code might be the same, but the dynamics can be completely different.

I don’t wish to be seen as negative or unhelpful,  and this is why testing doesn’t produce good results.

Any testing pool needs to be diverse and relatively random so that you get full feedback of all types.  Only selecting/inviting those that you consider helpful (like-minded) is introducing bias into the results and won’t provide you with the best outcome.   You need a mixture including some managers who are critics of the game to engage in testing as well.

Most games that ask users to test either open up a test server for anyone to join (or if not possible owing to financial constraints) at least let ppl volunteer.

Btw this isn’t an indirect way of trying to join the testing team as I don’t have the time to commit, but I’m sure there are others who would want to if given the opportunity.

I totally agree on the diverse testing pool and you are spot on again regarding the mirror server used in testing. That helps a lot especially in terms of eliminating bugs before roll out.

Hello,

I invited for balancing around 10 managers who I considered the most “demanding” about the game (people who use to be negative about every single change), those who were completely external to my beta team ended up insulting, not attending the races and doing very disrespectful comments towards my work, my family and others. Thanks to them unfortunately I’m reticent to that.

That was an error. Beta testers should be those that have love for the game. You can definitely spot those.

Stop-stop-stop, that is, the beta testers were those players who hated the previous updates, and not players with different views on the game? Don't you think this is absurd?)

Should those who do not like these updates now actively "whine" that this is bad in order to get into the next team of beta testers?))

p.s. I love all the latest updates except the dirty air removal

As I mentioned I’ll be happy to invite new players to the beta team in the future! ?

Since the suggestion is rejected I close the topic.
