-1000 for any form of safety car. Random elements have no place in a management game.
lol you are being sarcastic right?
If so, nicely done! ?
Random elements allow managers who can think fast to shine. Rain has no place in IGP then also? ?
Without safety cars if you are level 14 vs level 20 there less reason for some managers, (many I've been noticing) to login other than wet races which can create random opportunities similar to F1.
I like how people say this game has nothing to so with F1 but yet we have practice sessions, tire compound rules, refueling, DRS, the Halo, etc etc etc.
Safety cars adds another reason to be online during races which is also good for the game. Would help to promote more active players.
No I meant it I hate the idea (just my opinion). This is a management game not a racing simulation. A totally random element would ruin the game. It might be great for those in a losing position, but for those who have set the best strategy, have worked out their fuel correctly and have done a good job of managing push levels it’s a disaster and I’m sure anyone in that situation will be frustrated if a safety car ruins their race.
Also, Level 14’s should be beaten by level 20’s (there is another thread discussing whether level caps should be introduced to avoid managers getting promoted too quickly which be a better place to discuss this real issue you raise). There are some every good & experienced managers who probably could in a weaker Elite league. However, a racing game has to have winners and losers and why should managers who have grinded up to lvl 20 and have the greater experience of managing the game be penalised by introducing something which potentially takes away their advantage?
You also can’t compare a random safety car with weather which is a factor you know in advance and with a little bit of work taking into account the built in delay for real time weather conditions makes it manageable. Even completely wet races can be managed to an extent via a change in stint strategy. It’s something I see a lot of managers fail to do and others do it incredibly well.
Safety cars will always be controversial some will hate it and some will love it and of course we don’t have to agree with each other, but last time it was a bad experience.
