Hi, 

Apologies if this has already been asked before or is a well-known thing.

Why is my practice time sometimes slower after I’ve upgraded my car? Every other variable is the same: temperature, setup, car/driver condition etc.

As far as I know, driver mistakes are turned off for qualy, so I assume they are for practice laps?

I think errors are off for quali but on for practice. Could be wrong but seems plausible.

Driver mistakes are enabled for practice. You can only use practice laps to determine fuel consumption and tyre wear. Even if you fix all the variables (tyres, design, suspension etc.) you will be presented with a range of lap times because of driver errors.

I just ran these five practice laps with ideal settings one after another. As you can see the third lap is the fastest and is over a third of a second faster than lap 4. All practice laps were run in about a 1 minute window and nothing was changed between runs.
