What did you try to do?
Starting on 170 litres of fuel

What happened instead?
My driver started on 170 litres and after the 1st lap had gone down to around 117, causing him to retire later on. It only happened to one of my drivers though...

Did the problem happen while using wi-fi, mobile data, or both?
Wi-fi

Did the bug happen in the app, on PC, or both?
App

What is the model of your device?
Samsung Galaxy S10

What is the operating system?
Android

What is the version number of the operating system?
Android version 12

Can the bug be reproduced?
This has been a bug for a friend and by the sounds of it people in the same league has had it too.

I guess you're talking about the Malaysia race which was wet. There appears to be a bug in non refuelling races that resets the fuel to 120 litres if you toggle the tyres on the grid.

This is why one of your drivers only had 117 litres remaining at the end of the first lap. The race report will say he/she started on whatever fuel load you set in the strategy tab but you actually only started with 120 litres.

The Devs are aware of the bug. It should only affect wet races of 100% race distance.

I know it's highly inconvenient, but until the Devs have fixed the bug the only advice I can give you is don't change tyres on the grid for wet races if you're in a league that runs 100% race distance with the "no refuelling" rule enabled.

This happened in my race this evening. I did not change my tires on the grid. We had a rain race at Mexico. In advance I setup to have 165 liters of fuel with 2.18 liter being used per lap for a 70 lap race. I was ONLY given 120 liters to start the race and ran my entire race on PL1 to save fuel somehow and retired on lap 57. This is unfair. If we are going to have a no refueling rule. You should atleast be able to adjust your fuel at the start and not be penalized for the game giving you a certain amount and all you can do is watch as your retire from the race. Only drivers to finish the race didn’t setup at all or showed up after the race had started. Please fix the bug or allow my league to change back to old way or atleast a chance to re-race.

How do you 'change tyres on the grid'?

This fuel bug happened to me and a few others on a wet race a couple of nights ago.  I had set wets in my normal strategy and in advanced set it to wets at 3mm of rain (it was over 3mm).  One car was fine but the other had the fuel bug.

But if both of my drivers had the exact same setups, tyres etc. Shouldn't they both be affected?

OK, so judging by the last two responses it is possible that the bug is also evident when the manager just confirms or checks the tyres.

It is interesting to note that it only appears to affect managers who attend the race, which of course means Advanced Strategy is disabled.

I will escalate this additional information to the Devs. Thank you all for the feedback and apologies for the inconvenience it is causing.

Yes Joe, they should. I will forward this entire thread to the Devs. I will give them the race ID for your Malaysia race.

If anyone else reports a similar problem on this thread please provide the race ID.

Thanks.

so if we have a wet race upcoming, what can we do to prevent this bug? by adding more fuel at the beginning of race?

I expect joining live only after the start will prevent it.

Like Gert says, if you know it is raining (weather icon on the home page) or the track is wet (check to see if cars have qualified on Inters or Wets) wait until the race has started before joining.

This is not ideal but it is a workaround until the Devs fix the bug.

I just like to reiterate that this is only an issue with 100% races with "no refuelling" rule enabled because 120 litres is sufficient fuel for shorter race distances.

Hi everyone, regarding this issue we believe it is already fixed internally and just needs to be included in a patch to the apps. We will roll out the fixed version to WebGL today and expect other platforms to follow next week (due to app submission and review times causing delays). Once you have the update it should mean that joining before the race will not cause your fuel level to become 120, and so you will finish the race.

Hi Kevin,

I personally was on mobile (iPhone) but I’ll check with the others who suffered and come back to you.

Thank you Conor

The reason I ask is because Jack announced yesterday that he had patched WebGL which means if you use a browser to manage the race you should not suffer from the bug (see the post 5 above this one).

IMPORTANT NOTE:
If you're using a browser it is necessary to clear cache to get the latest webgl

I understand that you suspect the error was caused by a quick tire change at the start of the race? Only I had the rain tires set in the strategy for the race because the training was already wet. The first tire change followed the tactic on lap 14. So there was no tire change at the start ...

Did you join the race with browser or app Marcin?

Any app update has to be authorised by Apple/Google etc. So there's a lag before it becomes available.

Jack put a patch in the Browser version the day before yesterday so it would be really useful if anyone is still experiencing this specific bug if they would let us know whether they use the App or the Browser.
