Since i havent seen any threads of this, i wanted to ask:

Would it make sense for this to be part of leagues? Like if you wanted to, you can save up research points for a certain number of races and, as the season ends, a fraction of your points gets brought over to the next season, say between 5%-30% of the points.

So if you had 100 points saved at the end of the season, but had a 10% carryover(?) rate, you would start next season with 10 extra points to develop

This might create a balancing act between immediate success and future planning, and it could be changed by the league host. Obviously there's the problem of managers just stockpiling points for the next season, so to counter that, adding a cap, determined by the league host, on how many points can be used for future development, similar to a cost cap.

Hmm, I personally believe that there should be a season where you can save money for a better, more developed starting car next season(like what Haas did), but there should not be a DPs carry on to the next season. If a certain player transferred just enough DPs to the next season, well, they could make the car of the WHOLE field maxed out on key attributes earlier than expected, and we won’t see a massive “car development” race in the season, which is the part that makes racing in the leagues more variable.

Furthermore, if all players just go saving DPs, it will also have the same effect like the above example, and it results in the next season’s car become more OP than it should be in the first races.
So, yes for next season’s car development(like on Motorsport Manager), but no to DPs saving to the next season.

This used to be a part of this game. Competitive managers had 2 teams, switching every season in order to always have a team with max design points from last season
