At the beggining of this year I reasiled that I had not seen any tall drivers in my academy for quite some time and because all of my occult practices and sacrifications to black gods naive attemps to influence the situation (or better to say convince myself that I can do it) by changing the team colour/increasing rep/hiring or firing drivers and other dumb things were unsuccesfull I decided to carry out a mini survey to find out the probablility of a tall 20 talent driver appearing in the academy.

I started recording the results of academy rerolls on February 12 and even though I wasn't so punctual and didn't reroll the academy every 2 days like it supposed to be I managed to get some quite interesting data.

So far I have recorded 130 entries in total, and 117 are male drivers. The majority of them have maximum talent - 72 drivers, but only 2 (!!) of them have the target height 190+ and most (47) are below 180 cm.
That means that even if we turn a blind eye to the fact that the sample is potentially much larger due to my unpunctuality the chance of a tall driver to appear for me is already very small, only 1,5%.
Am I so unlucky or is it working like it really should?

And also I haven't seen any female drivers of talent 20 taller than 180 cm since the beginning of this experiment, which is kind of ridiculous too.

Has anyone tried to find out what the chances are to get a tall driver out of the academy these days? Would be interesting to compare the results.

No bad luck or mistake, that's about right. The chances are not equal, the peak is around 175cm, give or take, and gets lower towards the extremes. The intention was most likely to mimic the real spread of heights, while race drivers tend to be a bit on the shorter side due to weight and car design advantages.

Yeah, talking about males regardless of the talent value there are 2 peaks in my sample - around 169 and around 176, so I agree with your assumption.

I was actually planning on releasing my own analysis.

I have done data on 1000 youth talents and the rate at which a 190cm+ comes along is 0.4% for me. I only had FOUR in 1000 youths that came through my academies. I had NEVER had a 192cm come through my academies until a week ago, which was about a month after I stopped recording data.

So you could say you have less than a 1 in 1000 chance of getting a 192cm driver.

About a 58% rate of 20 talents. That's 577 20 talents in 1000. Approximately 2.89 every Youth Intake.

I don't know how the devs code the Youth system, but I have seen most other managers get a much better hit rate than this. 4 in 1000 is a little shocking. Or shockingly bad.

Actually a 191 cm driver does exactly the same as a 192 cm one, did you take that into account?

I was talking about 190+ in general, but from my own observations and data, a 192cm driver will quali ahead of a 191cm driver, all else being equal, more often than not. But I certainly haven't done that test for massive periods of time. It is ongoing.

Wow! You have done an impressing analysis, thanks for sharing it here.

The rate for tall drivers in your sample is extremely low and I hope that’s the result of some kind of bug or something, because I have also heard stories of people getting tall drivers every 1-2 weeks or so, which seems impossible compared to your data.

And another stupid theory I wanted to test - did you try to find out if there was a correlation between your team reputation and the academy drivers height? Because I didn’t record my rep unfortunately but this theory came to my notice some time ago and I thought of adding this parameter.
