Sometimes weather conditions are changing during the race.
What about changing Setup  at  Box?
Perhaps a full Update is needed. I know that makes it difficult. But it would be nice also.

You mean the wings and the ride height?

Unfortunately such a operation would require far to many Dev resources for something that happens once a season?. Right now assuming everyone started on same ideal setup, it really shouldn't effect strategy of race much as all are equal. This change wouldn't benefit strategy in any meaningfull way rather just add mechanics for sake of it. All drivers would then need to keep spreadsheet open in background during rain races to memorize different setups. Is like adding in the formation lap it looks good but Doesn't improve game so shouldn't be a priority. However the Devs are planing to add more levels beyond 20, maybe in future will be more setup options via a new building of sorts?‍♂️

Yes, I mean the wings and ride hight.

@ Andrew

Well, my main  thought was to make Strategie more important  during the race . And players who are good  with  Setup have an advantage
It also could be added as an option like tyre rules or other  options.

I think with extra box time, but good idea!

Yes  , changing Setup  needs extra time at Box.... ( I think about 2 or 3 seconds )

Great idea, but this doesn't feel realistic. Cause normaly to change setup takes many minutes and even hours. So, a 2-3 sec slower pit won't be enough. And if they make it to keep longer it won't be worth it to pit for setup change.

It’s goes against spirit of racing as well.  Using F1 as an example changes to set up after qualifying has started have been banned.

If it rains everyone in the same boat so having ability to tweak set up achieves nothing except that the experienced players will know exactly what to change it to and increase their advantage over the rest.  This would be a big development change which achieves nothing for the game.  It even doesn’t make strategy more important if even less so.

Are they still allowed to take a little bit of front wing angle of attack on or off in F1? (You know.  The pit crew right up the front of the car with a socket crank)

If so, then it might be a better idea to allow changes of 1 point of aero setup per pitstop and that is it.  You may also want that restricted to one pitstop as well...

This idea could also add a maximum of 0.5s to a pitstop.  Considering that irl front wing changes in a pitstop take as long, if not less time, than the tyre change.

They can make minor changes to front wing when in part ferme and during pit stops, but allowing changes during pit stops in a management game is ridiculous and as I and others have said makes zero difference since everyone could do it.

I also believe there is an exemption irl if weather conditions are such that not changing may cause serious accidents, but since this is a game it isn’t relevant.

EDIT:  just read an article dated today that states FIA is going to ban changes to cars while in parc feme

Yes, that was my thought, too. Often I have seen mechanics working for a few seconds or less at the front wing.

And never the less, this is not real F1. We have no accidents and cars overtake where  ever they want.
But thats ok so.
Not easy to make a game based on reality.

Rear wing also as seen by RB lately to adjust balance for a harder compound. Of course there are limits as larger changes need a different wing.

If everything in a manager game would be ridiculous that everyone can do then nothing of this game would remain. Also what FIA does is only of minor interest as iGP has its own goals and rules to achieve them.

That said in the game we currently have there is little point to it. The setup system needs to be ramped up quite a bit and different compounds, fuel weights, temperatures and variables like that need to influence to make setup rather a compromise than the set in stone value as of now. Currently there's only weather and I'm not sure at all if the setup actually changes if it starts to rain or determined once by conditions at start. Last time I tried stuff it rather looked like it's the latter, however that was right after 3D so things were a bit uncertain all around and slightly messy in general.
